New Races for Forgotten Realms?

Jul 11, 2008 12:57:06 I figure they prolly have the Genasi in, since it says Race(s) pluralized, what do you think the other races are going to be or are they maybe just referring to each individual Genasi (air,water,earth,fire) and getting my hopes up? heh

Drow As Player Characters

With the release of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting in the summer of of '08, drow will be presented as a fully playable character race. Although drow as a race are a singularly wicked people, cruel and treacherous in their dealings with others, a smattering in every generation learn cooperation and the value of alliance. While some of these are merely cunning in their decision to gain the trust of others, a few truly come to value the positive aspects of camaraderie and friendship, sometimes even with those not of their own race.

Play a drow if you …

* want to be good at skulking about, striking quick, and employing a variety of dirty tactics;
* enjoy playing a hero in search of redemption and who struggles to rise above the wickedness of his people;
* are considering a ranger, rogue, warlock.

Jul 13, 2008 18:08:33 Did no one here see the powerpoint presentation where it said what would be in the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide? They specifically said Gensai and Drow, nothing more nothing less. And for the sake of completeness they also said it would include the Swordmage, paragon paths, at least one epic destiny(I believe only one though), and regional background feats(or something to that effect). I wouldn't get my hopes up for any classes or races beyond that.

Jul 13, 2008 21:33:54 Yeah, the've specifically said that there're only two new races in the FRPG. So if it's Drow and Genasi, then that's all there is.

I very much want the aasimar back.

they are printing Manual of the Planes 4e and apparently there is a playable race included in it (source: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1040488)

I suspect that's where you will find the Aasimar.
