No Monk in Character Builder Update?

May 26, 2009 3:11:25 The character builder was updated today, so I hurried to update it so I could make a monk. I was saddened to see that the monk wasn't in the update material.

We got the barbarian in the character builder last time, why not the monk?

Yup. The CB Dragon content is updated a month after the issue is compiled, so this month's update will be including last month's Dragon, not this month's.

There hasn't been a update yet though. The Editorial Calender wasn't updated to state that the update will actually be occurring on June 2nd. This is when the Monk will be in the Character Builder.

This. They've changed the CB/Compendium update schedule to the 1st Tuesday of each month.

May 26, 2009 7:13:12 Just confirmed no update today (I used CB over the weekend so it was up-to-date as of Sunday).

You must have missed the last update so got it today.

The updates are now on the first Tuesday. That means a 2-week delay between a book's release and it showing up in the CB. Magazine compilations presumably are still a month delays so May's Dragon will be in the update on the first Tuesday of July.

What was talked about and so far hasn't changed is that the monk playtest (and hybrid class playtest) will be in the June 2nd update as special exceptions and due to popular demand. This could also mean that the monk won't be included in the Dragon compilation for May so wouldn't show up in July's update anyway so could be put in earlier if it was ready (and honestly other than the text being long there's nothing new mechanically for monks that would require new code in the CB, just new data in its database).

Given its page numbers are 65-77 it would seem rather likely that it will be part of the compilation.
