| #1serphetMar 02, 2009 19:38:26 | I no this was an issue for alot of use to deal with. However is seems that that D&D experience may have been using an older (less tested) PHB2. Checking the New SRD feats listing starting on p32. This pretty clearly has phb2 feats in it, however there is no Weapon Expertise. anyone have any thoughts as to what happened? I can only imagine it got canned. |
| #2NautilusMar 02, 2009 19:42:09 | Maybe - then again, there's no avenger or warden in the SRD either. |
| #3MatthiasKaiserMar 02, 2009 19:47:14 | I think the SRD is incomplete. Hopefully the D&D Experience characters were using incomplete rules as well, because there seem to be some issues with the classes as we know them. |
| #4Crimson_ConcertoMar 02, 2009 19:57:10 | The SRD must be incomplete. Just look at the list of monsters added. It's like an eighth of the number of monsters in the PHB. ![]() Also, yeah, the Avenger and Warden are missing too... |

Yes, but if you look at the list of monsters several from the 1st MM are also missing, so I think that maybe there are issues with some of the 4E materials old and new. Bel |
| #6BolongoMar 03, 2009 1:45:01 | 03/06: A look at the heroic tier feats. So we'll know on Friday. |
| #7CK.356Mar 03, 2009 2:32:08 | The SRD includes whatever terms WotC wants to keep from being redefined. It includes the old classes and not the new ones because those are the ones 3pp would likely attempt to redefine and it includes all feats that name basic concepts, which weapon expertise would qualify as. I am hopeful this is an indication it was abolished. |
| #8alisair_longreachMar 03, 2009 17:17:30 | As far as I can see the Heroic tier feat list those that were included from the PHB2 are only those that improve Barbarians, Bards, Druids, Sorcerers, Gnomes and Half-Orcs. Those feats that deal with the other classes and races and the generic ones are not included because WotC considers them their intellectual property. |
| #9serphetMar 03, 2009 17:38:23 | weapon focus is in there. |
| #10GMforPowergamersMar 04, 2009 21:32:58 | RPGnet has a guy who has the book... it is in there +1 att with powers but not basic atts, and it up grades to +2 at 15th and +3 at 25th level |
| #11TheLoneClericMar 04, 2009 21:34:38 | RPGnet has a guy who has the book... Yep. Kinda what we thought it was. It's a kludge feat, but eh. |
| #12GMforPowergamersMar 04, 2009 21:41:03 | It's a kludge feat, but eh. no it is a general feat...no need to be a kludge to take it... ;) (I kid I kidd) |
| #13TheLoneClericMar 04, 2009 21:43:10 | no it is a general feat...no need to be a kludge to take it... I dunno man. It's a pretty nice class. It's got a lot of fun features but they never really work well together... :P That said, eh, one bothersome feat isn't going to get my panties in a bunch over the rest of the book. |

As is being discussed in the CharOp thread, there's a pretty limited number of builds that would want that. The ones that do really want it (Chaladins being at the top of the list), but most other builds that really need high basic melee attacks already have it. |

But as an Artful Dodger rogue who regularly double-teams with a Tactical Warlord, a +4 bonus to my basic attacks to hit and damage is well worth the investment of a single feat. |
| #19CK.356Mar 05, 2009 5:16:21 | Groups with tact lords definitely will appreciate Martial training. Any non Str based melee can use the stronger base attacks. |

The ones that do really want it (Chaladins being at the top of the list), but most other builds that really need high basic melee attacks already have it. Anyone that finds themselves in melee range will find this useful. Pretty paladins, artful dodgers, avengers, druids, Con-bards, and even some staff wizards are firmly on the list. It can also be useful for nonstandard melee builds, like elf fighters, that have high secondary stats. |
