Of course they can be improvised using DMG templates for PHB1 classes, but it would still be nice to get them as an online enhancement from WotC. I use a lot of NPC's in my games and am going to start making npc's for the new classes as soon as I get the book! |

They don't present anything new with NPC templates, they just put a class stats in a much smaller square. Go over the existing templates' components one-by-one, and just change them according to the class you want. Write it all down on a piece of paper and OMG! YOU HAVE A FREE NPC TEMPLATE! EDIT: I actually did this with a bard NPC I made for my party a few weeks ago, using the bard preview from the character builder. worked perfectly. Don't be afraid to experiment with your game, no policeman will arrest you for playing with the rules. |

Speaking of npc's, it's also interesting how they have less hp at 1st level but are gaining them more with levels. This is different than with monsters. |

But that's also an easily solvable problem - Simply look at the features and select those that seem to best represent the flavor you're looking to achieve with the NPC. |
