PH3 Classes: Opinion Poll for the Developers

Due to the factors mentioned below, I believe that by the time the PH3 is ready to begin publication (if it hasn't already), there is sufficient evidence to request that the developers increase the number of classes in the PH3 from 8 to 10.

This is an open poll whose results I intend to have submitted to the developer's regarding what power sources the gaming public (collectively) feels should be included in the PH3, and in what mix.

Please take all debates regarding individual answers and opinions to these questions to another forum/thread.

This thread is intended as a serious poll only, and I ask that you respect it as such.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.
Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).
Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?
Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?
Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?
Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

I thank all of you in advance for participating in this poll, and for respecting the intended spirit of this thread.

Reasons/Justification for Including 10 Classes in the PH3
 • By the time the PH3 is ready for publication, a smaller percentage of those 80+ pages will be required for new (and expanded) rules material (eg. backgrounds, new uses for skills, new combat rules, etc).
 • Going by the PH1, Classes take up approximately ~15 pages of real estate each.
 • With less space being needed for new (and expanded) rules options, the developers could easily justify using 30-35 of those 80+ pages to flesh out two additional character classes.
 • Assuming the developer's also provide more Paragon Paths, and Epic Destinies, that would still leave 20-30 pages of the PH3 for new (and expanded) rules content (80-30 [Classes] - 20 [PPs], - 6 [EDs] = 24 pages)

My answers to the above questions:

Question 1: Yes
Question 2: While I prefer a 4/2/2/2 split as it covers all 4 out-standing power sources, my vote is for a 4/4/2 split as it allows for 2 powers books in the same year.
Question 3: Shadow, Ki, and Psionics (in that order).
Question 4: Yes. An extra 2-4 paragon paths for each of the 8-10 PH3 classes would be ideal.
Question 5: Yes.
Question 6: (In order of preference)
Necromancer: -- Shadow Leader/Controller
Illusionist: -- Shadow Controller
Monk: -- Ki Striker
Soulknife: -- Ki Defender; Uses Incarnum/Incarnum Blade
Incarnate: -- Ki Leader; Aura Powers/Features
Shadow Dancer: -- Shadow Striker
Empath: -- Psi Leader

I"ll bite

Question 1: Yes-it takes around 14-15 pages to detail a class, along with 4 paragon paths, so if they don't have the combat rules (or at least the basic combat rules) in the PHB 3 they should have room for 2 additional classes.

Question 2: I'd like a 4/4/2 split myself-I don't see a whole lot of demand for a Ki power source (beyond the monk), and would like the option of having a mostly psionic or shadow based party.

Question 3: Shadow, Psionics, and Ki (In that order)

Question 4: Yes-they managed to include 8 classes in the PHB with a total of 116 pages plus epic destinies and paragon paths (going from page 60 where the cleric starts to 176 where the epic destinies end).

Question 5: Yes-they did it in the PHB 1. I'd be fine with 4 or so.

Question 6:
Necromancer (Shadow Leader with a minor in controller)
Illusionist (Shadow Controller)
Hexblade (Shadow Defender with a minor in striker)
Wilder (Psionic Striker with a minor in defender)
Incarnate (Ki Leader with a minor based on build)
Telepath (Psionic Controller)
Empath (Psionic Leader)
Monk (Ki Striker)
Psychic Warrior (Psionic Defender)
Shadow Dancer (Shadow Striker)

What the hell, lemme in on this.

Question 1: That would be cool but, it worries me if they would have enough time to playtest 10 classes, assuming each of them were unique in their own right and not a Captain Falcon/ Ganondorf type deal.
Question 2: 4/4/2. I prefer symmetry.
Question 3: Psionic, Shadow, and Ki.
Question 4: No, I think they should keep paragons in their respective book, if that's what you mean. For the Psionic, Shadow, and Ki Heroes book, I don't want to see fighter paragon paths. But if you mean just more than normal paragon paths for the three power sources, sure why not.
Question 5: Sure.
Question 6: Alright. Psychic Warrior (psionic warrior), Soulknife (psionic striker), Shaper (psionic controller), Psion (psionic leader), Hexblade (shadow defender), ??? (shadow striker), necromancer (shadow leader), illusionist (shadow controller), samurai (ki defender), and monk (ki striker).

What the hell.

Q1: No. More classes is great, but 8 is a good number. It's too hard to properly playtest any more, and it'll cut volume from the rest of the book.
Q2: N/A. 4/4 works for me.
Q3: Our opinions won't matter here at all. I want to see Ki and Psi the most.
Q4: Four per class is definitely too few, when you consider that each build will probably be interested in only two. However, I consider these PPs a holdover until the appropriate Power books come out. I wish it weren't that way, but it is.
Q5: No. Epic destinies should be as generic as possible, and thus, in contrast with PPs, fewer will be needed in each additional sourcebook. There should be some with unique flavor that matches the power sources in the book, but that's it.
Q6: Names are fluff. I want an identifiable kung-fu class, and some variety in terms of primary ability scores, weapon- vs. implement-users, and of course role.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3?
No. That will only serve to exhaust the PHB series 2 classes sooner. Use those extra pages for feats and paragon paths.
Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).
4/4. I'd much prefer fully fledged out Power Sources rather than half finished class runs.
Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?
Elemental would be my first choice, as I find it the most enigmatic. Ki would be my second choice, but only if it is actually soul magic and not just "Asian Powers." Barring those two, I'd rather see Shadow than Psionic, if only because it'll be something (relatively) new.
Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?
Yes. I'd actually like a couple extra paragon paths per class already existing, but I realize that won't happen.
Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?
No. Epic is rare, and far less interesting to me than the first two tiers, not to mention it will be extremely difficult to offer serious alternative choices to Demigod. I say, use that space for extra feats/paragon paths.
Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role).
As for name, I have no idea. I like the sources we know the least about. Since Elemental will likely deal with primordials and the elemental chaos, I'll give it a shot:

1) Chaotician (Elemental Leader sub Striker)
2) Sha'ir (Elemental Controller sub Leader)
3) Preserver (Elemental Defender sub Leader)
4) Geomancer (Ki Leader sub Controller)
5) Avatar (Ki Controller sub Defender)
6) Wuxia (Ki Defender sub Striker)
7) Ravager (Elemental Striker)
8) Monk (Ki Striker) (Though I wish they used a different name)
I think I'm the only one who wants Elemental...

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3?

No. 8 is fine.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer.

I want 4/4. That way we'll be able to get two Power books soon after the release of the PHB3.

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

I'm rooting for Psionic and Shadow, myself, with four of each.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

In comparison to what? I don't understand this. Whatever the case, if each class includes four Paragon Paths, as they do in the PHB, then I'll be happy.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

I don't know about page count, but more Epic Destinies is always a good thing. Especially when some of them are tailored for the classes that were introduced in the book.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

Psionic Controller - Psion.
Psionic Defender - Psychic Warrior.
Psionic Leader -
Psionic Striker - Wilder?
Shadow Controller - Probably the Illusionist.
Shadow Defender - Hexblade?
Shadow Leader - Probably the Necromancer.
Shadow Striker - Ninja? Or maybe Shadowdancer.

Question 1: No. If there is more place, then the classes will be more detailed.
Question 2: No.
Question 3: Psi (4) Ki (2) Shadow (2)
Question 4: Yes.
Question 5: Yes. I would prefer more PP/ED than more classes.
Question 6: Shadowcaster (shadow - controler), Shadow Dancer (shadow - striker), Psion (psionic - controler), Monk (ki - striker), Soulblade (psionic - striker), Psychic Warrior (psionic - defender), ? (psionic - leader), ? (ki - defender)

1) I'm fine with eight, but if they want to up it . . .
2) 4/4
3) Ki and shadow
4) Hard to say without seeing what they do in PHB II
5) see 4
6) I don't want to limit their creativity to my expectations, but:
Monk - ki striker
Samurai (unarmored user of iaijistu and kiai) - ki controller
Fetish (medicine man/witch doctor/acupuncturist) - ki leader
Bouncer (Bodyguard type uses the force of his presence to lock down opponents)- ki defender
Reanimator - shadow leader
Ninja - shadow striker
Illusionist - shadow controller
Necromancer - shadow controller

I'll take a shot.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

No, 8 is good.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).

N/A

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Psionic/Shadow/Ki 4/2/2.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

For each class presented in that PHB, yes.

Psion-psionic controller
Empath-psionic leader

Soulblade-psionic striker
Necromancer-shadow leader
Shadowdancer-shadow striker
Monk-ki striker
Incarnate-ki leader

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

I see no problems with this. I actually expected it for the PHB2 originally.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).

4/4/2 or 5/5

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Shadow and Psionics hands down. If we see a third new power source, Ki. But I'd be fine with revisits to Martial, Divine, Arcane or Primal so long as any new classes or build options aren't going to be left out in the cold by appearing post "X Powers" book.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

Sure.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

That's good too.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

Psi Warrior (Psi Defender)
Hexblade (Shadow Defender)

Aside from those two, I'd just like to see at least one for each power source/role combo. Not too concerned over which classes get kept around. (Wilder or Soulknife is fine for a Psi Striker... so long as we have a Psi striker.)

3 or 4 shadow
3 or 4 Ki

1 Primal, at least
1 Arcane (duskbalde)

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Shadow / Wilder
(Sorry guys I don't think Psionics needs to be a seperate power.)

1: No. Keep it the way it is so the classes can be made well as opposed to just being made.

2: 4/2/2 is fine for me. It gives enough coverage and is able to highlight certain types of characters that may need the attention without ignoring anything else.

3: Well, all that's "left" are Shadow, Ki, and Psionics, so we may as well just get those three.

4: No. That's what the Powers books are for. What we have now is fine.

5: No. I think the Epic Destinies will stack well enough when you consider they are universal (generally), so you don't need to worry about coverage for every class. Honestly, I'd rather information be left out for the Powers books so the page count can be brought down and the price reduced.

6: Honestly, I don't care. I'll just take what I'm given. None of the roles seem desperately in need of a class, so it's all bonus for me.

Question 1: No. With the current law of "4 classes per power source", 10 is an awkward number. Besides, 8 is plenty. As for the extra space they'll have--more rituals, racial feats, general feats, and other such generic things.
Question 2: Inapplicable, but for the 8-class build, I'd like to see 4/2/2.
Question 3: Psionics, Shadow, and Ki, in that order. Psionics is the most well defined and probably most desired, so it should get its four classes first. Shadow and Ki aren't as well mapped out, and so should save something for PHB4.
Question 4: Yes. More paragon paths to choose from from the beginning is good.
Question 5: Again, yes. More epic destinies is better.
Question 6: Well, my thoughts:
Psion--Psionic Controller
Empath--Psionic Leader
Soulknife--Psionic Striker
--some other psionic class, preferably new--
Necromancer--Shadow Controller
Blackguard--Shadow Defender
Monk--Ki Striker
--some other ki class, no brilliant ideas here, but leaning away from Ninja and Samurai since they stated they were going away from the solely Oriental Adventures-ish feel for ki--

That's my 2 cents.

1: No. Too many classes spoils the broth.

2: NA

3: 4 Ki / 4 Psi

4: Maybe. If they can keep them interesting enough and still leave something for the power books.

5: Not really. Good Epic Destinies are much harder to come by then Paragon Paths. Let's not dilute the mix too much.

6. No opinion. Surprise me!

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

No. More classes would require considerably more play-testing. I'd rather they provide higher quality over greater quantity.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).

I feel this still applies even though I've answered "no" above. I'd like a 4/4 mix so that power sources are eliminated more quickly. I'm hardly bothered by a 4/2/2 mix however.

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Elemental & Shadow. We know nothing about the Elemental source and I've seen people debate how it might be different from Primal or Arcane. What better way to find out than letting WotC actually show us. Shadow is then next in line with regards to what holds my interests.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

Yes. Paragon tier likely sees a solid amount of play time across most gaming groups and thus more variety would be welcomed.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

No. I feel that this tier of play likely sees the least amount of play. That's entirely personal opinion though, based on my own experience and I have no way to prove it.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role).

We know so little about the Elemental source that I'd rather not muck about with class names. Suffice to say I'd like to see one class for each of the four roles.

As far as the Shadow source goes:
Necromancer (Leader)
Shadow Dancer (Striker)
Hexblade (Defender)
Illusionist (Controller)

As I said though, class names don't matter so much to me as does getting each role represented.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

No. More classes would be interesting, but that would leave them with only two options for PHBIV: Release only 6 classes (unlikely), or come up with a new Power Source. And I think they are getting a bit too imaginative with Elemental already.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).

4/2/2

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Psi, Shadow and Ki, in that order.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

Hell, why not?

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

There's no such thing as ''too many Epic Destinies''.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

Well...
The only two classes I would really like to see in this book would be the Monk (Ki striker) and the Necromancer (Shadow Controller). Beyond that, as far as I'm concerned, they can come up with wathever they like.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

Not really. I think that they should provide value for money, but I don't see why adding two classes is necessary. If they want to, great, but I don't see why they should. I generally find it... economically irrational to count up pages in an RPG book, compare to price, and declare the larger book a better value or the smaller book a ripoff.

This line of discussion is sort of the echo of the continual lament on boardgamegeek- "why do I have to pay $50 for a game that's just a bunch of cards?" Because you're not paying for the physical cards, you're paying for the ideas. And the value of the ideas in a game is based on how much fun you have with it, not on cents per page adjusted for inflation.

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

I like the Shadow power source, but I'm really not particular. Ki is fun, and Elemental is mostly a cipher, so I'd like seeing those. I'm not a huge fan of psionics, but other people are. So I'm cool with anything.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

See above, where I responded to the "pages of content per dollar" issue.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

See above, where I responded to the "pages of content per dollar" issue.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

I think this is also a bad question. The problem is that most people will look to their knowledge of 3e for classes, and then stuff them into 4e power sources and roles. I'd rather the developers feel free to completely reject many 3e classes, create completely new ones, and concern themselves more with good design than with porting 3e material.

A) Polls on forums are always worthless. Always.

B) Your questions are very poor ones.

Question 1: Incorrect question. Of course players want more content for free. 100% of the time they want more content for free. This is thus a non-question, a meaningless question, and a worthless question. The real question is content priority.

Question 2: See above.

Question 3: Honestly, I don't really have a preference. I'd like to see psionic come last, but its not really that big of a deal to me.

Question 4: See question 1.

Question 5: See question 1.

Question 6: This is a pretty pointless question, as the results will be so varied as to be completely worthless.

As for your justification, it isn't a justification at all. The PHB was longer than they were hoping, so the subsequent books being 80 pages shorter or so is probably about what should be expected. It isn't unreasonable to expect the book to be 240 pages long and, indeed, I wouldn't be unhappy with that length. Obviously longer is better, but longer is also more money, and unlike the PHB, there isn't a price cap on this in quite the same way.

Not to derail this further, but only 6 out of 20 responses wanted the 2 extra classes.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.
-- No, PH1 had 8 classes, 4 martial, 2 divine, and 2 arcane. PH2 added the other 2 divine and arcane classes while adding another 4 primal keeping the 4/2/2 ratio.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).
-- N/A

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?
-- Ki, Shadow, Psychic with the 4 classes going to Shadow although I'm looking forward to Ki. 4 Elemental, 2 Ki and 2 Psychic can come in PH4.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?
-- Sure, options are good

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?
-- Sure

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.
-- Monk, Ki Striker
-- Disciple, Ki Leader(also my favorite class in Vanguard)
-- Shadow Dancer, Shadow Striker
-- Samurai/Ronin, Ki Defender
-- Duskblade, Shadow Defender
-- Psychic Warrior, Psychic Defender
-- Necromancer, Shadow Controller
-- Psion, Psychic Controller

Though I doubt this poll is really going to be something that truly affects what happens, it's interesting to see what the community is going for.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

I'm not really sure if that's something I'd say would be good. I thiink if they could A: Playtest it properly and B: if they do this, I think they need to be able to put out more than the eight Power Sources we've heard of. I do actually feel that there will probably be a bit more than what we know of, but I just can't see what they'd be. So, I guess I'd answer this no, but if they can pull it off I'd be very happy. Also, I agree with Ran's sentiment that there should be more races.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).

I'm more of a fan for the 4/2/2, and 4/4/2 if they wind up going with the 10 classes. As far as the 10 classes idea running, I hope that it would mean PH4 would be another 4/4/2, with the 2 finishing off the 2 from PH3, one of the 4 being the last source, and the final 4 being a completely unheard of power source, which is why I say they need to be able to do well with making more Power Sources.

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Either Elemental or Psionic for the four, with a bit more hope for Psionic. Elemental just for the fact that we don't really know what it does, and it just looks interesting. And I'm not sure which I find to be the lesser of the two evils of shadow or ki. Though, recently I've found myself convinced that Soulknife could be more appropriate to Ki, so I guess Ki for the last.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

Do you mean more than what we've been seeing for a class? I'm good with just 3 or 4 per class.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

Don't really think too many Epic Destinies are really necessary.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

Don't really have much to say as far as what the Elemental's going to have, I'm not really a fan of the PoL tie that Elemental has with Chaos. I kinda like the Elemental Chaos idea, as having one plane with all the Elements involved, instead of a plane for each, but I don't like Chaos = Elemental. I think Elemental Maelstrom would have been a better set up.

Psy Leader: Empath
Psy Striker: Kineticist, hopefully down play the pyro/cryo/energy stuff and just a lot of Force Damage and Telekinesis stuff. Clearly sub Conroller, though going the other way around is good too.
Psy Defender: Not quite running the same as the old PsyWar, I was never really interested in its focus on shapechanging, and the claws stuff. What would make me happy would be something focused on some kind of combination of reading an opponent's mind and sensing the immediate future to make it able to stop the opponent before it acted. Warmind would be a good name for this, I recall that Prestige class, but I don't recall what it did, at all, but might as well use its name.
Psy Controller: Something with a bunch of mind control stuff. Don't like Psion as a name, but don't know what to call it.

Ki Striker: Monk, because if they released Ki without the Monk there'd be a lynch mob. Personally don't really care where or when it shows up. Hope it focuses on all the Ki Strike feats and stuff like that.
Ki ??? (Maybe Defender, maybe another Striker): As I mentioned earlier, Soulknife, maybe call it Soulblade.

As a note, with Ki having one class traditionally focused on unarmed and another focused on creating weapons of its own energy, perhaps Ki should have its own Implement, perhaps prayer beads.

Gleemax ate my first post.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3?
No. 10 classes doesn't mesh well with the stated 4 classes per power source in the Player's Handbooks.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer?
I didn't answer yes, but 4/2/2

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?
I would prefer Shadow 4/Psionic 2/Ki 2
Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?
No. The number of Paragon Paths being released currently for each class is fine. That said, I wouldn't mind having an additional Paragon Path for each class, as long as it doesn't lead to a drop in quality.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?
No. The number of Epic Destinies being released in each book is fine. Again, another one or two isn't a problem for me as long as the quality is still good.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role).

I would like to see:

Shadow Leader (Necromancer)
Ki Striker (Monk)
Psionic Striker (Soulknife or Psiknife)
Ki Leader (Incarnate)
Shadow Striker (Ninja)
Shadow Defender (Shadowguard or Hexblade)
Psionic Controller (Psion)
Shadow Controller (Illusionist or Beguiler)

Having voiced my personal wishes, and being reasonably confident in the knowledge that it probably won't change anything, I consider the following much more likely.

Psionic 4/Shadow 2/Ki 2 as the mix

Psionic Leader (Ardent, maybe)
Psionic Defender (Psychic Warrior)
Psionic Controller (Psion or Wilder)
Psionic Striker (Soulknife or Psiknife)

Shadow Leader (Necromancer)
Shadow [Defender or Striker most likely, but possibly Controller]

Ki Striker (Monk)
Ki [Defender (Soulborn) or Leader (Incarnate), but possibly a surprise]

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes

I would say "Yes", it keeps a good balance for what has come before and what is to come with keeping with the same number and allows the same amount of options for the rest of the book.

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

I would personally like to see Psionics (4 of them so we have one complete Power Source), Shadow (2) and Ki or Elemental (2, it doesn't really matter to me)

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

This sorta goes under the same as how I answered for the first question, if it means this PHB lacks the resources in other areas because of this I don't think makes it "fair" for those seeking those other resources (this is all under the assumption that the books amount of pages is the same)

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

Look at above answer.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

-Shadow Controller or Leader: Beguiler/Illusionist
-Psionic Striker: Wilder or Soulknife
-Psionic Controller: Psion
-Psionic Leader: Empath
-Psionic Defender: Psychic Warrior
-Shadow Controller: Necromancer

All I really care about, it could be either Ki or Elemental for the rest and can be whatever.

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

Maybe (Yes). They should present a good selection. I'd go as far as suggesting 10-12 though.

But Yes because more classes will probably be a good thing.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).

Is this roles or power sources?

Depending on the power sources covered in PHB 2, Arcane will be fairly complete, Divine as well, Primal should be complete as well.

I'd suggest 4/4/4 Ki, Psychic and Shadow or Elemental
Ideally 4/4/4/4 All four getting some attention.

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Ki, Psychic, Shadow and then Elemental.

Really depends on what's being aimed at with these power sources. Shadow and Elemental may be limited to monsters.

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

I think the respective power source books will cover that, so no.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

As above, so no.

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

Martial Controller
Ki Striker (Monk)
Ki Controller (Not sure)
ki Leader (Not sure)
Shadow Controller (Necro/Illusionist)
Shadow Striker (Assassin/Shadow Dancer)
Psychic Controller (Psion/Mentalist)
Psychic Denfender (Psychic Warrior)
Psychic Leader (Animist?)
The Nomad (Psychic somethinger)

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

No.

Psionics (4), Shadow (2), Ki(?) (2)
Reason: As an avid Psionics fan, and Eberron player, for me, personally, this would allow for the "completion" of Eberron's former player options (bringing Psionics back into the game, and 1/3 of the world with it, as well as playable Necromancers and Illusionists - two classes that got a lot of love from my players in 3.5 Eberron).
Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

If they have nothing else, sure. However, if there is more fitting material, paragon paths are not that important.
Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

Seems unnecessary. I would prefer a few more "universal" Epic Destinies, but beyond those I do not feel that we need to be overly saturated with them.
Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role). Please do not provide reasons to justify your opinions on class role/power source at this time, as this only opens the door to endless debate.

Ooooh boy. In order of preference:
 • Telepath (Psionic Leader)
 • Necromancer (Shadow ?)
 • Shaper (Psionic Controller)
 • Illusionist (Shadow Controller)
 • Soulknife/Nomad (Psionic Striker)
 • Egoist (Psionic Defender)
 • Monk (Ki X)
 • ? (Ki X)

Question 1: Do you feel that the Developer's should increase the Class count from 8 to 10 in the PH3? Yes/No.

Yes, If this means that the average number of classes per power source increases to 5, rather than 4. No, if this would mean that between PHB3 and PHB4 they would print five new power sources.

Question 2: If you answered yes to Q1, what mix do you prefer. 4/4/2; 4/3/3; or 4/2/2/2. If you prefer none of the above, please provide reasons including an alternative option (if you have one).

5/3/2 - As with my previous answer, I'm assuming that we're increasing classes per source, not adding a fifth source to pad out.
So, let's say we go Psi(5)/Shadow(3)/Ki(2), then for the next we'd go Elemental(5)/Ki(3)/Shadow(2).

Question 3: Which Power Sources do you wish to see represented in the PH3, and in what concentrations?

Psi - 5
Shadow - 3
Ki - 2

Question 4: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 1-2 pages of Paragon Paths for each class (10-20 additional pages of class content)?

I would have no problem with that.
I'd rather see part of that space devoted to non-class specific PPs.

Question 5: Do you feel that the Developer's should include an additional 4-6 pages of Epic Destinies in the PH3 (8-10 pages total)?

Yes

Question 6: In order of preference, what 8-10 classes would you like to see represented in the PH3, and with what power source (and role).

Psi Controller - Psion
Psi Leader - Empath
Psi Striker (Ranged) - Wilder
Psi Striker (Melee) - Mind Blade
Psi Defender - Psychic Warrior

Shadow Defender - Hex Blade
Shadow Controller - Illusionist
Shadow (Leader or Striker) - Necromancer

Ki Striker - Monk
Ki Leader - No clue what name would be.

Question 1: No
Question 2: 4/2/2 as with PHBI and PHBII
Question 3: I expect Ki, Shadow and Psionic with 4/2/2. I'd like Elemental to replace Psionic though.
Question 4: I wouldn't mind as long as they kept them generic, more specific PP's should be the domain of (Power source) power books?
Question 5: Same as #4)?
Question 6: Ninja (shadow Striker with minor in Control), Monk (Ki Striker/Control), Illusionist (control), Shadow Leader, Ki Defender, Shadow Controller, Psionic Defender and Psionic Leader.
