| #1yorrinMar 10, 2009 10:28:04 | So, in case you hadn't noticed, Jools posted the PHBII paragon feats: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21677604@N00/3340224847/sizes/l/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/21677604@N00/3340226149/sizes/l/in/photostream/ Exciting Stuff... |
| #2AcedonteMar 10, 2009 11:19:56 | Vexing Flanker looks interesting. A maneuverable character can grant your whole party CA for most, if not all, of an encounter. And as a Divineaholic, I like all the Avenger and the Invoker feats. Inexorable Pursuit = I will get you, you evil SoB! And Speaker of the Gods, is that 18-20 crit range after you use a Channel Divinity power? Not bad. |
| #3DragonsWrathMar 10, 2009 11:53:07 | Ha. Strength from Pain is also a power from Martial Power. Oops. |
| #4the_badger_02Mar 10, 2009 11:53:34 | CHECK OUT VERSATILE MASTER! Very nice. |
| #5DragonsWrathMar 10, 2009 11:58:13 | Versatile Master looks like its made of win. Potentially Three at-wills from three different classes? Yah! The other stuff is just icing on the cake. This really seems like it should be two separate feats, unless they plan on powering up feats in general. :/ edit: ninja'd PS: how did you get that image in your sig? Did you win a contest of some sort, or are you now allowed to use WotC hosted images or something? More edit: I like the look of those sorcerer feats! ![]() |
| #6thenewblackMar 10, 2009 11:59:55 | I'm excited. I'm liking March so far, first Watchmen then PHB 2 =) I do like that feat for the half-elf letting them use their dilletante encounter power as an at-will. |
| #7doctorhookMar 10, 2009 12:01:04 | Ha. Power =/= feat. :P |
| #8DragonsWrathMar 10, 2009 12:05:06 | It will still cause confusion. |
| #9doctorhookMar 10, 2009 12:19:05 | It will still cause confusion. Possibly. However, what will cause more confusion is the fact that there's a Warden (IIRC) Paragon Path in PH2 with the same name as one of the Minotaur Paragon Paths from Dragon Magazine. |
| #10spellwyrmMar 10, 2009 12:29:47 | Most excellent, I'm liking the Half-Elf even more then I already did. |
| #11elfwenchMar 10, 2009 12:32:13 | So, in case you hadn't noticed, Jools posted the PHBII paragon feats: It is clear that I'm going to have to try a two weapon ranger now. I'm also going to have to make an avenger. And a Deva. Not necessarily the same character, though they are two great tastes that go great together. (What? I'm craving candy and I have none! ;) ) Thank you for sharing. |
| #12aidan_blackthornMar 10, 2009 12:39:56 | The one I found the most interesting was Paragon Defenses. With that, it seems even more likely that they're trying to correct the power gap at higher levels. I wonder if that stacks with Great Fortitude, Lightning Reflexes and Iron will. |
| #13elfwenchMar 10, 2009 12:51:26 | Vexing Flanker looks interesting. A maneuverable character can grant your whole party CA for most, if not all, of an encounter. Divinaholic may describe me, too. As most of my characters, divine or not, have strong ties to their religion in some way. I'm especially fond of Rangers as a class, dating back to the 1st and 2nd edition where they did have access to some clerical spells and, thus, it was easy to give a religious spin to them. Now, they are just martial class. However, I love strikers so know I'm going to make an Avenger. I'm thinking an Avenger/Ranger or Ranger/Avenger would be pretty neat, too. |
| #14mplindustriesMar 10, 2009 12:58:14 | So what does everyone think of Wildblood Speed? You can shift as a free action when a marked target makes an attack that does not include you. Its a free action when he attacks. Can I shift next to the guy and use my immediate interrupt, or what? I'd lean to no, but it'd be awesome if you could. |
| #15borg285Mar 10, 2009 13:11:33 | Wildspell fury is like the sorcerer's cleave or greenflame blade. Cleave < greenflame blade < wildspell fury one adjacent melee enemy < all adjacent melee enemy < all adjacent ranged enemies. |
| #16olfactatronMar 10, 2009 13:14:26 | Anyone notice the feat the lets you change out encounter powers? I wonder how that works, it sounds very cool. |
| #17waterbizkitMar 10, 2009 14:35:45 | So what does everyone think of Wildblood Speed? You can shift as a free action when a marked target makes an attack that does not include you. My question would be why not? There's nothing in the feat description that implies you can't, nor do any rules currently contend with this move. I think it's an excellent feat for paragon tier. You can easily become a much greater threat to any of your marked opponents because if they're within your shift range you can strike them, and if not you should at least be able to close to within five squares and make use of Wardens grasp. The latter does not prevent the damage, but at least you still get to hassle the marked target a bit. I like the sound of it. ~Bizkit |
| #18gwynn_dupMar 10, 2009 15:46:05 | I don't think that's possible, by my understanding a free action (and immediate action as well) happen after the attack. An interrupt would happen before the attack is carried out and possibly change the outcome, like the attacker being two space further away and prone suddenly ![]() |
| #19fenrir7139Mar 11, 2009 0:37:01 | PS: how did you get that image in your sig? Did you win a contest of some sort, or are you now allowed to use WotC hosted images or something? Nah, you just go here. It's a fairly simple quiz; as in, you can manipulate it however you want, because the questions are totally obvious. I got Warlord! :D P.S. When you finish, click the "BB Code" link beneath the code, so it shows up on the forums. P.P.S. Or, alternativley, you could just quote me, copy the coding section, and replace "Warlord" with whichever class you want. |
| #20LFKMar 11, 2009 1:05:55 | I loved Vexing Flanker in 3e. The new version is... interesting. I think I like it, but I'll need to see it in play. |
| #21greymanMar 11, 2009 3:06:19 | Anyone notice the feat the lets you change out encounter powers? I wonder how that works, it sounds very cool. Reserve Maneouver? It sounds rather like the Wizards' Spellbook feature, except for swapping Encounter Attack Powers rather than Daily Attack and Utility. Most likely you would gain a similar set of swappable powers ("choose two each level you would gain a new power", etc.) I wonder if the swap can table place during a Short or Extended Rest? |
| #22cadfanMar 12, 2009 13:59:26 | So what does everyone think of Wildblood Speed? You can shift as a free action when a marked target makes an attack that does not include you. I'm pretty sure that's the intent. Right now a warden with a reach weapon doesn't do very well at defending. Its marked enemies can shift one space away and then attack their allies, suffering only the -2 to hit, and the possibility of being pulled back adjacent to the warden. With a reach weapon this doesn't work anymore, because the warden's immediate interupt attack has a range of "weapon." This feat lets you get a benefit similar to that possessed by the reach weapon wielder, even if your weapon isn't a reach weapon. The ability to hit someone who tries to shift one space away and then attack your enemies from outside of your grasp. |
| #23EviscerVIIIMar 12, 2009 14:50:50 | My Half-Elf paladin/feylock is gonna love this. Divine Challenge+Eyebite until dead. Rinse, repeat. |
| #24Johnny_AngelMar 12, 2009 14:59:30 | I'd like to see the full text on Reserve Manuever. Two-Weapon Opening seems like gold for a Dagger Master or a Ranger wielding two weapons. Wild Spell Flurry sounds like it's really good. |
