Auggies Minis just posted on another site that they received official notice from their wholesaler that WOTC has canceled PHH3 officially and that the wholesaler heard from "word of mouth" that minis are going back to blind boosters.

Talk amoungst yourselves....

Wanted to ask this earlier, but was wishing to avoid looking foolish. So you are saying PHH3 is "Player's Handbook 3?

Just asking, because PHH3 seems like a typo. I'm assuming you meant PHB3?

Aside from my not really caring if Psionics doesn't show up yet.

He means player's handbook heroes 3, the minis for pcs.

There are no D&D minis in the Summer 2010 Catalog. (Unless you count the Castle Ravenloft boardgame.)

Aww com'on! We didn't get any Devas! We got like one Goliath and no Shifter as far as I can tell!

Plus I want a Wilden mini without having to buy ridiculous ammount of boosters for 'em --

Hell, I just wanted more cheap Dragonborn varieties.  And maybe some Warforged alternatives.

Yeesh.

Speculation has been along the lines of the PC figs being absorbed into the regular mini boosters, possibly even getting their own catagory (like commons, uncommons, rares and heroes).

I could get on board with hero minis being random but present in every booster.

To a degree, I agree.  Especially since "hero" minis are generally useful to me as NPC opponents as well.

If the hero piece was visible (or also visible) in the packs, I'd be all for it.

So basically a set-up like the current Dangerous Delves/Savage Encounters/etc set up, where you basically pick the pack with the visible you like and go from there?  That would be awesome.

+1

I was mostly annoyed by the number of human/eladrin/elves/half-elves.

They freggin look the same at that scale.  It isn't hard to imagine pointy ears.  For that matter, the healms and hair could have covered the ears and completly nullified the need to describe race.  At the very least they would be interchangable.

What I really wanted was the more... visually distinguishable races such as dragonborn, deva, warforged (though we got some of those), Golioths, and small folk.  There are also plenty of human-ish minis from previous sets, which you can acquire (used-kind-of) from some shops on the cheap.

I just want new cool-looking stuff.  :/

Yeah, pretty much.  The visible figures are one of the things I love the most about the current minis system.  If those visible figures are well made / higher quality, and usable in multiples (which Hero figures very well could be), I'll still buy what I did before (if not more - most of the monsters didn't appeal to me, and those that did were ones which I didn't need multiples of; and most of the heroes were... either things I didn't need, or ugly as sin).
