Okay, lets jump the gun! :D

After digging into the previews of the upcoming Primal classes, save the the Shaman, we have a semi-good idea what's coming our way. Sure, bits of this might show up in the PHB2, but we can come back to this topic then and revise our hopes. So lets say that Primal power was months, not a year out from now. What if anything would you love to see in that book.

Off the top of my head:

Barbarian - Ancestor Spirit worshiping themed Paragon Path, Bonded family weapons, Planar variants. Hero of all tribes epic destiny.

Druid - Animal Companion builds, summoning build based on minions/cleric style summon drops, large monster paragon paths with enhanced wild form tricks (Threatening Reach, upped damage die/bonus), great beast epic destinies, flight based paragon path

Warden - A healing style defender trick like maybe giving healing surgest to people hit by marked target, thorn based warden tricks/more damage for marked close in foes, more ZONEs, more burst powers perhaps as a alternative class feature to deal with the Warden range issue for shifting foes.

You?

Druid: shapechanges based on specific animals. a little bit versality on various things would be great! a tiger would have other abilities than a bear... or a snake... or a bird... i am the only one that got a bit disappointement with this??

No, you're definately not. I feel a possible better way they could have dealt with the Druid's wild shape would be to say that they can change into any natural or fey beast of their level or lower. Maybe it'd work, maybe it wouldn't... but that sounds much cooler to me.

they could use something similar to the tables that they used for animal companion at martial source book... it wouldnt very difficult... and would add much more uniqueness to the druids without unbalancing the whole concept...

How would copying something from another class make Druids more unique? :P

Druids should be shapeshifters, and possible spirit summoners, rather than companion havers. Note: summoned spirits only last a few rounds.

I think instead of a warden they should have shaman. Slightly melee-oriented with animal-totem powers or possibly elemental-totem powers. they should also have some minor healing abilities and some party-increasing powers.

they already have a warden paragon path for warlords or rangers and i find a class based on that would be a little odd.

There's Skittering Sneak, Druid Utility Power 2. It's likely there will be other similar powers.

In General: I would like to see Paragon Paths, Epic Destinies, Feats, Open Powers (never know there could be some), etc. That emphasize the spirit-side of Primal classes and deemphasize the nature side. I think it be neat to see some "corrupt" stuff going on, so spirits that are less then reputable, etc.

Druid: I am perfectly happy with the Druid Wild-Shape as it is now, so not looking for much change there (I like the whole Primal Spirit type of appearance). What I would like to see however is more permanent elements to Wild-Shape, so... Say a PP that allows your Wild Shape to have a roaming maw to attack when you provoke a OA for instance, stuff like that.

Warden: I sorta like the Druid would like to see some more permanent aspects coming across. So your get better vision but your eyes look like a hawk, etc. Make the Warden into a weird amalgamation of human and nature/spirit.

Barbarian: Hmm... I dunno about the Barbarian, perhaps more variety of weapon usage to equal effect.

Overall I want to see stuff that showcases more weird/messed up nature and spirit then the, "living in harmony" side.

Yes, I saw that... and liked the ability...
Again, although i rly dont mind the primal beast that becomes, this is a beast theme and not an animal theme that i have in mind... anyway just my 2cent
It's the concept i have for druid. Be an eagle to catch the enemies, be a polar bear to defend the lass and then a tiger to punish them... anyway
Another idea that came to my mind is that, it would be cool, instead of the primal beast that the druid becomes, to have a specific animal spirit that is bonded to him, slightly differnt from another. So, will have the wolf druid, the bear druid, etc etc...and this will be the druid basic alter form. He can shapechange to another forms, but this will be his main animal form. Again with no big differences in game terms, a "+" here... a "-" there...
For the shake of flavor and versality!

I didn't say to copy, but to make something similar. I rly like the flavor of a beast master (and this is just a build). I would expect something similar for a class, the druid

Druid- I would really like to see more weather-themed powers/ paragon path/ feats and epic destinies for the Druid. To me the Druid has always been the master of weather magic and (to a lesser extent), plants and animals.

Barbarian/ Warden- Other than some mechanical reason for the Barbarian to stay in light armor and use two-handed weapons, (something that will be addresed in PHB2 I am sure) I really don't have any ideas for these classes

If you've looked at the previews on the phb2 you'll find that on their primal powersource preview that they specifically mentioned that the phb2 will have 4 primal classes. This means we don't know about 1 yet. My money says that we'll see the shaman as a primal leader.

What do you mean that we don't know the fourth primal class? The PHBII power decks have been on amazon for a while now. And you are right that shaman is the last one.

Alternate class features for the druid and warden that don't include shapeshifting, and alternate class features for the shaman that don't include the spirit animal thing.

I don't know if builds like that would really fit the flavor of the classes.

However, I would like to see the Shaman get more attack powers that don't include the spirit guide/animal companion. 'Cause while I really dug the preview, I also had to agree with a friend of mine a little bit that while the spirit guide is roaming around the map doing things to help the group, the shaman is just kinda standing there with his thumb up his ass.

We felt the same way about the Summoner build for the Wizard. On the other hand though, the Summoner does look rather bad ass and the "just standing around while yours pets do things" problem is easily solved by just taking spells from other builds every couple levels or so (or possibly every level with the Spellbook class feature.)

For the Shaman:

I would like to see some more sorta battlefield control type stuff reminiscent of the Warlord. However the way it is done is quite different, in this case it is the Shaman having spirits ride enemies and allies. So spirits in allies attack enemies that draw near, in enemies it confuses them or causes them to act differently, etc.

That's the point, really. Flavor is mutable. The present setups hammer the classes too firmly into being clones of one another; the different basic builds provided aren't different enough from one another for my tastes.

I'd REALLY like to see more of a witch doctor build for the shaman. Blessing his allies and cursing his enemies directly and stuff.

That'd be awesome.

I want an Aberrant Druid, something I realized could easily exist based on the way wildshape is now. Which actually gives them bonuses based on becoming a formless thing with tentacles.
