I got to see the socerer playtest the other day. I have a question about the wild magic class feature.

You roll after each extended rest to find out what kind of damage you do with your spells. But for example, if I have a power that does fire damage and I don't roll fire, does that mean I can't use that power at all until I roll fire type? Or does it mean I can use the power, but the fire keyword is changed to that damage type?

OK, first off your basic assumption is wrong. You've misread the article somehow.

Your Wild Soul feature does not determine damage type for your spells. It just gives you a resistance to a damage type and allows you to penetrate enemies' resistance to that same damage type.

Thus, your questions lack reference and cannot be answered.

My bad. I only quickly read it.
