While I know that Forgotten Realms will be first in line, I am very interested in seeing Eberron brought into the fifth edition. Can we get any information about when that will happen?
WotC hasn't even announced if they're releasing a book on the 5e Forgotten Realms.

Someone stated that some infos about setting (including Eberron) will come out in an unusual format, maybe by articles...
I'm not sure they'll create actual sourcebooks... I'd see a "multiverse sourcebook" series maybe...
Anyway, I'd be pratty happy with a 5e Eberron setting-book... Eberron is the reason why I went back to d&d 8 years ago...
I'd suggest to adapt 3.x material: that's a pretty easy thing to do, IMHO.

I love Eberron setting. I have all the setting books save Dragons of Eberron. It is one of my favorite RPG settings in any game. However I really want Warforged to not be as broken or potentially broken (Warforged assassin im looking at you)

They don’t always have to advance the timeline. They can visit past times that have not been fleshed out.
With the fact that WotC is releasing all the past published material, producing books about different time periods is an encouragement to purchase those books. If they produce material through the history, they can enrich it with much backstory.
I don’t think publishers should lock their players into one time period. I think they should provide a history and let them choose a time. Over many products they can cover many important events that make up the history. The GMs can then look at the stuff that happened before around the location they are running in and think of ways it might impact the region.
This also opens up what they can publish for a campaign setting.
I always liked Eberron enough to buy the material but never really got my group to play it despite one of the players in our group being a big fan of the setting.
This edition though...they way the mechanics work for 5th edition (toned down compared to 3.5 and 4th), I think Eberron would be awesome.
Count me as ready for Eberron. I doubt it will be forthcoming any time soon--the focus is the Forgetable Realms, and there's no campaign book on the schedule for the Life-Support-System-for-Drizt setting yet. At the very least I hope we may see some web-content with the bare bones chaacter opions you need for a campaign: Warforged, Shifters, Dragonmarks, etc.

What I know of the Playtest days there was mention of it and the other settings being released.

If a big hardcover campaign book cannot be produced for whatever reason, I would like to at least see an update to races & classes for Eberron, and maybe an Eberron monster booklet.

Doing a good job of Eberron 5e will include Magitech - which also has application to Gamma World.

I'd be perfectly happy with an official mechanical conversion, but a full-fledged setting book would be awesome.
I've been playing various forms for RPGs for about 28 years and Eberron was the only setting I never really connected with as far as a setting and over all feel. I didn't play Darksun much either but liked it probably cause of it kind of reminding me of Dune with all the sand, huge over simplification but I digress.
What appeals to those that enjoy Eberron so I can look at it in a different light and maybe get into it if it comes out for 5e?
Yes please. Preferably about areas of Eberron that hasn't been as much focus on before.

Because the 3.5 version is hard to compete with. In my mind 4th edition Eberron fell way short of the original model. So, please bring the world of Eberron back up to it's full strength and beyond.
This is still in my heart one of the greatest campaign settings ever made. Which is saying alot because I am an original Frogotten Realms Fan. So, far 5th Edition is a solid foundation So, do not mess it up developers!
