Is there ANY new options for the Rune Priest Class?  I haven't seen any since the class was released.  I really like the class but I really kinda feel limited on my options where the other classes in my party have like 3 books to pull from my little Rune Priest has one.  I don't have a DDI subscription so if they released stuff in Dragon I don't know about it.  Is that where all the Rune Priest Powers live?

The lack of support for the runepriest (and seeker) has been an ongoing sore point since the release of PHB3.  However, a new build (kanji runepriest) should be on DDi in October.

There's been a few runepriest specific items, giving new runestates.

But that's it so far.

So, this Kanji action, I'm very familiar with all previous edition OA classes, can someone shed some light on what Kanji means/is etc?

Ok I'll check that out some.  I'm not sure why Wizards has changed the way they they are releaseing 4th ed stuff the new "Class Builds" feels very 3rd edtion to me.  Have they just stopped releaseing books with powers in them all together?  I liked that I could mix and match and really make the character my own, as opposed to some template that I assign stats and a name to.

I can see what you mean, but it also feels a bit 4th Ed AD&D.

Kanji is Japanese word characters based off of Chinese word characters.

So instead of runes, the kanji runepriest will use kanji characters.

I suppose but I don't see anything "Advanced" about it, if nothing else it feels dumbed down to me.  It's like Wizards tried something different with 4th edition, they ran with it for a few years, then pathfinder started to outsell them and now they are changing the way they do everything, and all the new stuff is like 3rd ed or pathfinder.  I play both systems and like them both for different reasons but I gotta say, I prefer 4th edition.  I wish Wizards would continue on the trend they started with 4th instead of conforming to be more like their previous versions\competitors.

They are still releasing powers and such.

Abiet at a slower pace, since some of their efforts are put into the simple classes, and a heavier focus on stroy.

Cool, but how will this affect things mechanically (simply being a different language/use of characters)?

Mechanicly it's not out yet, but i'm guessing it will more or less be the same.  Just a new build, a new set of powers, and perhaps some extra feats.

Possibly Int secondary.
"You can use 1/2 your Int instead of Wis or Con in runepriest powers.  You gain 1/2 your Int mod to damage".

Probably has asian-themed runestates. I'll be surprised if there's feats now, WoTC likes generic feats that either suck, or are rediculus enough that everyone takes them.

That said, I doubt they're going to let you sub in Int for other runepriest 2ndary stats. It'd be the first new build (or subclass) to ever do so

Yeah, like that sick, limp-wristed bandaid; Melee Training...

No offence to you, this is directed at Wothole
