The thought of returning to this setting, while exciting, made me start to wonder what the wonderful minds at WOTC could possibly come up with. Anyone else wondering what could be in store for this setting? Or have any ideas on where they could go with it? |

I think the challenge would be to pay homage to the original books while opening the setting up to be a more living, breathing world, so the PCs neither feel like second fiddles to the Heroes of the Lance and other book characters, nor are stuck retreading some of the same steps. |

Not following Raistlin around, rather go do other stuff: a big chunk of Krynn seems to be in a state similar to late-Fall of the Western Roman Empire, and there is plenty of trouble to be had / faced in that kind of environment. Ask the teen who will become St. Patrick, for instance.

Basically, set the new campaign era as the world is in a similar position as it was when the chronicles started, with the intro adventure being reminiscent of the tavern meetup in the first book. |

A possible issue I see some people might have with a new heroes of the lance type story would be the reference to the Tiamat story line and fighting a similar dragon god again. Sort of like Ghost of Dragon spear castle and the elemental node plot similar to elemental evil plot. |

It's filled with cliches and the characters are written in vastly broad strokes, but dang if it doesn't hit that nostalgic sweetspot. I plan on continuing down the line. Being a twin myself, Dragonlance Legends definitely was a favorite. |
