I'm creating a Kalashtar Prescient Bard, and it looks like the only way I can use both the ranged weapon bard attacks and the ranged implement bard attacks is to use a one-handed ranged weapon. It doesn't seem fair to have a songblade enchantment that can go on both heavy and light blades but no bard enchantment for ranged weapons. Is there going to be a songbow enchantment in the future?

While true, that does nothing to address the issue pre-paragon tier.

Hopefully ranged weapons that Bards can use as implements will appear in AV2 later this month.

It also dictates your Paragon Path for you, which would be less of an issue if Euphonic Bow were better.

Harmonic Action is nice. Volley Fire is useless since an RBA uses Dex (hint: not a stat for any Bard). Arrow of Cacophony is alright. Song of Sonic Striking is shrug-worthy. Anthem of Antagonism is fun.

You could just pick up the Quick Draw feat, you know.

Bow in two hands > free action to switch bow to one hand > quick draw and use wand with single action > minor action to put wand away > free action to switch bow back to two hands.

I fail to see what the problem is. Unless it's just that you object to having to buy and maintain three magic items. In which case, you get absolutely no sympathy at all from my ranger with her two magic waraxes and magic longbow... :P

Is there any reason you can't use a songbladed dagger or drow longknife?

Nope. None at all, expect for most not wanting to do such low damage.
It isn't so much the low damage that rubs me the wrong way about using a dagger for Ranged weapon attacks, it's the imposition it places upon my creative vision.

The Bard class is presented in such a way as to describe a hero who is first and foremost a user of magic, fueling his secondary weapon prowess with arcane energy. In terms of attack, he is 2 parts Implement attack to 1 part Melee weapon attack to 1 part Ranged weapon attack (literally). Although there are many available options to flesh out the versatility of his Implement and Melee weapon attacks, the Bard is very limited in the application of a practice that defines 25% of his whole (Ranged weapon attacks).

The Bard is afforded proficiency with the Longbow and Shortbow at creation, but he isn't offered any flexible or adaptable options in order to fully enjoy the proficiencies or partner them with the better half of his attacks (Implement attacks).

On the subject of Drow Longknife proficiency, it just stinks to invest a feat slot on the redundancy of an aggrandized dagger that does nothing but up your damage die (slightly) and maintain a pigeonholed character portrait that could have been expanded upon in so many other interesting ways (if only the Bard could make proper use of his other ranged weapon proficiencies).
