Of course!  I'm not surprised.  Maybe we'll get an eMartial-like Chaos Sorcerer?

Most likely it'll be a repeat of HoS. Some arcane, divine, and other 'magical' powers for use with Post-E classes (oh uh and yeah some pass-through support for Pre-E, nothing direct or anything). A few new 'builds' with maybe a power per level, They'll list the powers for each element that comes from other sources (or if we're lucky reprint them verbatim). There'll be a couple feats, mostly stuff about bypassing or penetrating elemental resistances, nothing on par with say any of the Pre-E books. There'll be a couple of really generic elemental based PP's and ED's, but nothing interesting...

Like HoS, it probably won't be worth the money...

Good, the Warlock has gotten so much attention that I feared for the poor neglected Sorcerer. It and the Druid were my favourite 3.5 classes, and I would really like to see the Sorc stand apart from the Wizard and Warlock.

I just hope that they include some true elemental classes. As much as I've enjoyed developing my mockups, they have a heck of a lot more resources and experience than I do. :P Sorcerer build was expected though. They have too many hints at the elemental chaos to not be included, a demonic sorcerer could be an avenue to reintroduce the demonic tieflings from prior editions in some form.

the sorcerer should be changed as follows:

i) con as primary attack stat (wizards learn their powers, so int is best; warlocks negotiate and bargain for their powers, so cha would be best; but sorcerers are innately empowered. their powers flow from themselves, so con would be best);

ii) chaos sorc renamed elemental sorc, with con primary and int secondary (genasi would be the ideal race); and

iii) dragon sorc with con primary and cha secondary (dragonborn would be the ideal race).

I could also see Cha as the primary attack stat, with Con as the secondary, rather than Str or Dex.  Sorcerers "feel" their powers; their energy ebbs and flows and spikes – I can see that as Charisma as well.

But your justifications make sense.

CHA will probably remain their primary, simply so it's easier to work with what's already been printed for the Sorcerer. If the new class and material are too different, why bother calling it a Sorcerer anyway?

Con makes a lot of sense as a major elemental stat (though they made Int the "manipulate the elemental chaos" stat) in general simply because of the primal, brutal, and dangerous nature of the elemental chaos and the synergy with more "savage" races, but I would expect that for elemental classes rather than new stat for an existing class. I could absolutely see a Cha/Con sorc build though.

you most likely are correct about cha remaining the primary stat, although i would point out that they have made fighters that are strikers and druids that are leaders, so anything is possible, if not probable.  i'll keep my fingers crossed, just not too tightly.

I have started to think of CON as not only physical but "Instinctive" and relating directly to "Luck" (it is hit points base and that is related to heroic luck)

So manipulating and using Chaos being related to Luck Instinct and Stamina
Sounds pretty darn good to me.

I've been reading up on artificers while trying to figure out the best way to pull off a unique elemental leader, and I have to say as much as I prefer pure classes I wouldn't mind an elemental artificer build. While their fluff is too Magitech for my tastes, their actual mechanics are close enough to many of my ideas on elementalist abilities that it's making it difficult to come up with something that wouldn't make as much sense for them to have. :P

But it's the Artificer.  Magitech is about the only thing seperating it from being a Bard.   That's like saying you like Warlords but hate how they're presented as battlefied captains who direct combat.

The artificer has attacks that funnel through your ally, creates small energy barriers, and coats people in magical energy that damages attackers. The main thing that makes it an artificer and not an elementalist as is is that the fluff says that it does all of the preperations BEFORE combat instead of summoning forth the elemental energy DURING combat.

And that being fluff, you can completely ignore it in favor of the fluff that you summon the elemental on the spur of the moment.

I find the Artificier makes a pretty nice Witch.. she writes runes on things and blesses them and administers potions and so on... ;p
