Drow, Genasi and maybe some of the Dragon 'Playing...' races might get some love, but Swordmage will probably have to wait till Arcane Power.

So, Drow and Genesai got support in Martial Powers, and Swordmage got a little in Manuel of the Planes, which leads me to think that they'll probably get something in PHBII as well.

I don't know if the Drow or Genesai will get racial PPs, since they both already have several, but they may get one or two class/racial combo PPs associated with the new classes.

Drow and Genasi got coverage in Martial Power, similarly Swordmage will get coverage in Arcane power. Most classes got coverage in Manual of the Planes. I doubt that the Swordmage will see coverage in the PHB2.

Well Swordmages could still get some coverage in PHBII, although I would think that would be more of as generic arcane coverage than anything specific to them.

So have the Tieflings, Dragonborn, Dwarves, Elves, Halflings, and I think Eladrin, which are all supposed to get at least one each in the PHB2. What's your point?

Perhaps there will be something in there for Gnome Swordmages.

How about support for long tooth and/or razor tooth shifters? As I think that shaman that is standing in front of the Goliath on the cover of PHBII looks an awful lot like a shifter to me.

Don't forget... the Drow and Genasi have also had extensive Dragon articles containing racial feats...

So they've had Racial PP and Racial Feats already!

I think they have plenty of "love" so far.

The Swordmage already has more reprentation than the humble Wizard. the Forgotten Realms Handbook has a number of Swordmage only feats and PP. So I would suggest that the PHB2 will have more "generic" arcane feats, along the lines of the Implement feat we saw on the Warlock at DDXP.

In short, there are plenty of resources out there for Drow, Genasi and Swordmages... don't get greedy! :P

Shifters have been confirmed for the PHB2 for months.

Again, so has every other PHB1 race except humans & half-elves, & even they've had racial feats. The PHB1 races are still confirmed to get new stuff in PHB2, so why not the Drow & Genasi?

I can understand the argument that it's restricted to PHB1 & 2 races only. But saying "they already have stuffs!" is a fallacious argument.

I, personally, would be ecstatic to see more support for the races listed in the Monster Manual, especially the Gnoll. It's *very* interesting that the Half-Orc has a racial ability allowing him to take Orc feats, which strongly implies there will be some love for the full-blood Orc in the PH2.

No, it's not. I could go through the PHB, FRPG and Martial Power and Dragon Magazine and point out how much more content the Drow and Genasi have then any other race, but I don't see a point, just look it up for yourself. The Drow and Genasi have several purely racial paragon paths, no other race has these.((Aside from the Monsters made Races in Dragon Magazine))

Whether they're "pure" racial PPs or not doesn't matter, the fact is they exist. It is not a valid argument for saying there shouldn't be any Drow/Genasi specific material in the PHB2.

I don't actually think there will be any though.

I think it's reasonable to assume that aside from just containing things for the new classes/races, the PHBII will contain "oh, why didn't we think about that in time for PHBI?" stuff from old classes. Since, as people have mentioned already, Drow, Genasi, and Swordmages have all been covered in supplement books subsequent to FRPG, I see no reason why they wouldn't get roughly equal coverage to PHBI classes/races in the PHBII.

I'm not getting the arguments here. It has already been stated that nearly all of the races have PPs and feats. Hell, the core races got love in the FRPG too. The only reason the new races so much stuff was because they were playing catch-up. And if martial power is any kind of example, I think yes, the FR races will get some new options in PHB2. Probably not a whole lot, but I'm sure there'll be something.

I'm assuming this is primarily due to their presence in the most recently released campaign setting. I suspect that Eberron races will get the same boost once the ECS and EPG are released, then whatever races are prominent in the 2010 campaign setting, and so on so forth.

I can't explain the Shadar-Kai, though. Not sure where those weirdos came from.

It doesn't matter where they came from! They are cool, inspiring race! Only from the looks can win you (or loose you). Always been fan of shadow theme! I loved it when in forth edition became a major theme!
btw. shadar kai first appeared in 3rd editions Fiend Folio, page 150. :D

So, I fully expect Genasi to get a PP for either Druid or Warden focusing on elemental powers.

I also expect Drow to get some sort of Shaman PP focusing on spiders/spider spirit animals, sort of thing.
