If it is going to be in the PHB3 I wonder what it will be like. Like all divine classes it might have channel divinity and a lot of powers with the radiant keyword. Probably a defender since there aren't a lot of those. Primary stat is either strength or wisdom. Has a new different way of marking(wonder wat that could be). Secondary role could be a striker since if it is a leader that would be too much like the paladin. What do you guys think of this? |

Personally I don't see where there is a lot of room left for new Divine classes. We have a striker, a leader, a defender, and a controller already. Given that divine seems to pretty well come with a fairly standardized class feature package I'd say divine is the power source least likely to be able to handle multiple classes of one role. Given that PHB3 will certainly have psionic (so that accounts for probably 4 classes right there) and we still have at least 1 and maybe 2 likely additional power sources that are still totally untapped I'd find it kind of odd if they didn't start in on at least one of those. Granted that doesn't preclude another class in an existing power source, but I'd also want to say that it would make more sense if any such class was primal. There are 2 reasons for that, splat books already exist for arcane, divine, and martial, which means it could be a LONG time before another class of those sources gets an update published. Secondly primal seems to me to be a much more various power source where there is a lot more room for additional character concepts and class feature mechanics vs divine. Could the reference to templar be WRT a PP instead of a whole new class? I'd have no trouble imagining virtually limitless PPs. Heck, the vast majority of 3.x PrCs are likely to show up as PP equivalents sooner or later. |

The templar seems to have been renamed to the Avenger. If you look at DDMguild's PHH2 list they call the avenger mini a templar in their list. The EPG may have been an overlooked reference to the Avenger's old name and not updated. |
