For exmple: there are many spells resembling the old evocation, abjuration, and some conjuration and transmutation spells. So are they going to expand on the transmutation and conjuration spells while bringing in some necromantic, enchantment, etc. spells? I haven't looked much in to higher lvl powers for the wizard yet but does anyone see anything promising apart from blaster type powers? |

The Invoker looks like it will have some summoning magic. I really never learned the old schools of magic, so I can't really comment too much on the other ones. However odds are most of the schools which had actual combat applications will resurface, although likely as new classes. If the school didn't have too much combat ability though, it might still resurface as utility powers. However don't expect too many attack powers that don't deal at least some form of damage. |

My Feeling is the wizard is the class that is worst at his role in the PHB, so a lot of cooler controllery stuff is coming, likely at the expense of a new 'build' |

Conjuration, at least the summoning part, will be making an appearance in the PHB2 through the primal and invoker powers. Shapechanging transmutation will occur as well. The PHB3's shadow source has illusion and necromancy in the bag, and its psionic source will specialize in mental abilities, like enchantment. |

It is best not to think of Wizard like it used to be, and instead what it is now. It has an actual focus to it now. |
