Theory on how many "Power" books WotC will make a year

Judging by the release of 4 sets of power cards this year (one for PHBI, Martial Power, PHB2, & Arcane Power) it would stand to reason that WotC wouldn't release Power books faster than they can release power cards. As it stands, waiting six months for the cards seems too long.

So, we know that there is going to be a PHB each year. And, because the PHB introduces a new power source, then a Power book for that source. So, all things considered, there should be two sequels to pre-existing Power books. Martial Power II has already been announced for 2010, so either Arcane or Divine Power II will come out in 2010 as well.

I say we get two, one new and one covering new classes from other sources.

4 power card sets a year - 1 PHB = 3 Power source books

And for the Player guide books? It looks like they're being wrapped in with other releases. Check out Arcane Power cards below.

Why do Swordmage and Warlock have two? Probably for the powers in Forgotten Realms Player Guide.

Of course, this is just my educated guess.

And it has been speculated that the second set of swordmage powercards is indeed mislabeled as arcane power and should instead read frpg.

On the original question, I expect to see martial power 2(which we know), arcane power 2(which will likely include all 6 arcane classes, including the artificer), and psionic power. Maybe psionic power before arcane power 2.

Then, if the phb3 cover does indeed have the correct power sources(which I don't doubt), I think we will see divine power 2 and primal power 2 at the end/beginning of 2010/2011(maybe one in nov. 2010 and the other in feb. 2011).

I don't think the cards have any bearing on the books' rate of release, and I actually expect them to churn out the cards faster now that they have a more solid base under them.

I don't either, I just deduced the frequency of the power cards and assumed an equal ratio of books that feed those cards.
