Jul 16, 2010 15:46:12 Since there is some confusion out there about what a Trade Paperback is and what size it is I figured I would provide a couple of links for people to read up on them.

If you look at the Players Handbook Races - Tieflings book it is a Trade Paperback and is roughly the same size as the hardbound books.

I looked on Amazon and Borders and saw no listing of size. Do you have a link to a place that quotes size? Unless its buried somewhere on those sites.

I also notice that this lists the price as $19.95 while the links you gave list it as $24.95.

Also, just looking at the covers, I'd guess that the Rules Compendium comes in at 6x9 and the other products don't. The proportions don't look like 1:1.5 to me.

I'd be happy if they were all 6x9, but it looks like they're being somewhat inconsistent in sizing. The Red Box I can see doing the way they are, but it'd be nice if the books are all A4 sized or all 6x9 sized rather than some one and some the other.

Note that several of them say they're just placeholder images, not the final covers. You can't infer anything from the proportions of those images.

Jul 18, 2010 4:31:39 Good point. And I'm hoping that's the case. I have a bag I rather like for every day stuff, that I prefer over a backpack. It fits a netbook and digest sized books just fine, but full sized hardcovers prevent me from zipping it up.
