| #1Xaielao2Mar 30, 2009 16:16:28 | DMG 2 comes out in early fall (if Amazon it to be believed.) Yet in April we have two Players Handbook 3 playtests, for a book thats a year off! Wheres the DMG2 goodness? As a DM (one of many on this website,) I'm keen to know what it will include. Lets get some DMG2 playtests or previews in May.. please WotC?!?! Oh and while I'm on the subject. Cant wait to see the MM2 previews next month. Saw the cover on Amazon and all I can say is; "Hello Demogorgon!" |

Playtests occur well before the release of a product in order to pinpoint the areas that need improving with enough time to do so. I'd think a great deal of the DMG2 is close to its final state by now. Also, playtests and previews serve entirely different purposes. I'm sure we'll start seeing previews for DMG2 when there are significantly fewer D&D books ahead of it in the release queue still to come out. |

Although I would like seeing DMG2 material, I understand the focus on player-material instead. We'll probably see a few DMG2 excerpts when that book is closer to release. |

As for playtests, since MP2 tests will be followed by PHB3 tests in April, I think these books will be released next to each other - Jan-Feb10 for MP2 and the next month for PHB3. |
