| #2SamursusAug 01, 2008 11:31:00 | Primal will be included in the PHB2 |
| #3Steely_DanAug 01, 2008 11:37:41 | We are not getting any new Martial classes, they are done for now, in the PHB II we will have new Arcane (bard and sorcerer), Divine (I'm thinking/hoping invoker and theurge) and Primal (I'm thinking/hoping barbarian, druid, shaman and witch). |
| #4wotc_loganAug 01, 2008 11:46:36 | Keep in mind that Martial Power and Arcane Power contain more options for existing classes, not new classes. |
| #5BelorinAug 01, 2008 14:09:39 | Thanks for stopping by Logan! While you're here maybe you could clear up something, it looks like the Artificer will be an arcane class in the EberronPG, will it get coverage in the Arcane Powers book? The Arcane Powers comes out before the EPG. Bel |
| #6wizardmonAug 01, 2008 14:20:05 | I agree with the OP. But I have to say, it would not be so bad if ALL the remaining arcane classes were put into the PHB2 (ie, Swordmage and Artificer). |
| #7WhiteHarnessAug 01, 2008 15:33:12 | I am quite dissapointed that we get more martial and arcane, before we get new: elemental, ki, primal, psionic, and shadow. I'm not. The Martial, Divine, and Arcane Power Sources are compelling and fascinating; the others sound dull and too weird to be much fun. Give me more of what I like, not wacked-out craziness. |

| #9trobonAug 02, 2008 0:27:17 | If they were to throw out every power source the have planed right away then they will have a lot less to publish in upcoming years. Personally, it seems like they have a good plan this time and I would like them to stick to it so we don't get crappy books like Magic of Incarnum that never get any support. |
| #10hellmuteAug 02, 2008 1:43:59 | Keep in mind that Martial Power and Arcane Power contain more options for existing classes, not new classes. How long then before Divine gets upgrades and the cleric and paladins have to wait for those ability related powers? Will each PHB have upgrade books to extend the power sources for each included power source prior to the next PHB is released? |

How long then before Divine gets upgrades and the cleric and paladins have to wait for those ability related powers? Well, given the schedule, I'm guessing Divine Power will be released in Fall '09, and Primal Power in Spring '10. Indeed, this works out pretty well with their 4/2/2 class distribution. Release 4 classes of one power source in one book, and two of two others; then in the next book release 2 of those same and then 4 classes of another new power source. So: PHB: 4 Martial/2 Divine/2 Arcane Martial Power fall 08 PHB 2: 2 Divine/2 Arcane/4 Primal Arcane Power spring 09 Divine Power fall 09 PHB 3: 4 new1/2 new2/2 new3 Primal Power spring 10 New1 Power fall 10 PHB 4: 2 new2/2 new3/4 new4 New2 Power spring 11 New3 Power fall 11 PHB 5: 4/2/2 New 4 Power spring 12 Ect. This also allows them to release all 8 new power sources, complete with books, by spring 2012 with a new X Power book coming out every six months. |
| #12evilrefAug 02, 2008 18:40:47 | Thanks for stopping by Logan! Not Logan but he answered this question on the enworld forums the other day: Artificer will not be in Arcane Power as it's coming out before the Eberron book and won't be 'finished' (by which I assume final playtest outcome decisions) by then. |
| #13BelorinAug 02, 2008 20:13:58 | I most have missed that, thanks Evilref. Bel |
| #14Xeviat-DMAug 03, 2008 16:24:03 | And there's no need to plan anything after 2012 anyway. ;) In all seriousness, Martial Power is coming out this year since all the martial classes are done. Arcane and Divine are both being finished in PHB2, and Arcane Power gets its book first because people like arcane classes more than divine (just going off which classes get chosen in my circle). |
