| #2Janx_14Nov 11, 2009 8:44:52 | I'm guessing its going to be more of a melee artificer, since building summons is something the tinkerer already does. Beyond that i'm not quite sure. I'm guessing either Strength or Con. I'm sure the article will mostly support only the new build, as article size is more limited these days, though Artificers have no clear spec definining ability, so the other builds are likely free to choose these powers, especially if the secondary state is one of the existing ones.
The current artificer doesn't change any class feature for its two builds, so i expect it to just be a power set like the current ones are. |

The main reason I asked about the class feature is that it wouldn't be the first time WotC developed "new class features" where they didn't used to be; e.g., Healer's Mercy for Turn Undead, and Ardent Vow and Virtue's Touch for Lay on Hands. |
| #4thescalesoffateNov 12, 2009 16:35:10 | I'm kinda hoping the secondary is Strength. I like seeing classes with a range of secondaries to choose from. =D |
| #5Janx_14Nov 12, 2009 19:22:24 | Yeah i'm thinking strength too, as right now the artificer is mostly ranged/implement oriented. I guess its because they have very little insentive to go melee, when they can stay in the back and do just as well with their current powers. |

There's some pretty cool Daily's that effectively turn one of your allies into a weapon you can use - they get buffed, and when within range of you, you get a special attack that originates in their square. |

| #8ranadielNov 14, 2009 19:08:40 | where are you getting this or did you make it up, or did I miss the release? WotC tends to upload the Monday releases early without putting up a link on the main page. If you know their naming conventions for pdfs it is easy to pull them p a few days early. And here is a link since I know someone will ask for it if I don't bother posting it now. Oh and you have to have a D&Di subscription to see it of course. |
| #9MarandahirNov 14, 2009 20:48:22 | Thanks Ranadiel. You always get the links early for moi. |
| #10thescalesoffateNov 15, 2009 1:00:19 | Mmm. Rolling up a Deva W(t)F Artificer as we speak. XD |
