I can't remember how long before the Player Handbook Heroes Minis were released that we found out what class/races were in them.

Does anybody know when we can expect to find out what race/class combos will be in the sets that are relased in August?

Thanks in advance.

Let's hope there's a female tiefling warlock, because that picture in the PH has been taunting me for over a year now.

Amazon.com has pictures of series 2 packs - you will be able to get a hint of the race/class combos from there.

Man I'll tell ya. That new Human Wizard certainly answers the criticts of the Human Wizard in the first PHB set.

Yery nice looking.

In another thread about the exact same thing, Peter Lee said he just got the "bag-o-minis" for the new sets and that the previews will start "soon".

Amazon only has 4 of the series 2 boxes available with pictures. I took a look at them and can tell you what I saw.

Primal Heroes 2 features what is clearly a re-paint of the Frenzied Berserker mini of a previous set, which makes me wonder at why have, out of 6 Primal minis released, 3 are barbarians? Of the other 2 one has a sword, and no shield, so...not a shaman and not a warden....maybe it's a scimitar? are druids profiecient with scimitars?

Arcane Heroes 3, one of them is a warforged. We have a female in a blue dress, and a male in red and gold holding a sword...possibly a swordmage? Maybe a bard?

Martial Heroes 3 there is DEFINETELY a new dragonborn, and he looks sweet. He's got a shield which immediately tells us either fighter or warlord. The other two figures are hard to make out, but one is blond and wearing green (ranger?) and one MIGHT be small. Really hard to make out that one, my bet is on halfling rogue.

Martial Heroes 4 has a repaint of Alusair Obareskyr (sp?) from a previous set. I know b/c I have the mini, looks to be a female human fighter or warlod, she has a shield and a sword. I think I also see a tiefling with a sword and shield, and since tieflings are better warlords than fighters, my bet would be on warlord for that one. Last one is hard to make out, but it's medium sized and either wielding 2 crossed swords or a big crossbow, I would go with a 2w ranger mini.

Well unless the mini depicts wildshape/spirit-companion, there is a a lot of visual overlap between druids and shamans. The lack of warden minis is disappointing though. Barbarians lack shields while fighter/warlords/paladins typically have metal armor, so there really is a shortage of good warden minis.

Martial Heroes 3 there is DEFINETELY a new dragonborn, and he looks sweet. He's got a shield which immediately tells us either fighter or warlord.

That's a repaint of the old Dragonborn Fighter from War of the Dragon Queen. He was a 3.5 style dragonborn, so he's a little out of place compared to 4E dragonborn, but the mini still looks pretty solid.

Anyway, DDM Spoilers now seems to have, a full set list for PHB2 hero's.
Edit: Oh, and the black paladin(?) in divine heroes 3 looks wicked cool.
This set was commissioned in Feb '08, months before 4e was even out: at that time the look and feel of the PH2 classes wasn't in stone. I could draw on previous Barbarian and Druid looks, but classes like the Avenger, Warden, and Shaman weren't really possible for me to predict.

We've been able to cut down the development time of miniatures by quite a bit, so future sets will be more in sync with the RPG releases.

that is good to hear ... maybe with the better Sync ... ya'll will consider some other release options for the mini's as well .. (like maybe a few different DM boxes with a set variety of mini's in them instead of random stuff)

Thanks for taking the time to post Peter. Perhaps we should just have one thread about upcoming minis, which you could keep an eye on if you wanted to keep interacting with those of us interested in the minis.
