| #2sallaMar 01, 2009 14:57:06 | Nothing definite, but PH3 seems likely. Psionics is something a lot of people want. |
| #3akodokojiMar 01, 2009 15:02:56 | Nothing definite, but PH3 seems likely. Psionics is something a lot of people want. I'm neutral towards the class as a player but I'm really looking forward to the Eberron book and Eberron without psionic will feel weird to me. |
| #4NautilusMar 01, 2009 15:10:47 | Won't be Eberron. Given the strong possibility that Dark Sun will be the 2010 setting, I think PHB3 is where the first psionic classes will appear. |

| #6NautilusMar 01, 2009 15:25:53 | That would be all kinds of awesome. Where did you hear that? It's not confirmed, but the presence of certain Dragon magazine content, like the gladiator articles along with some Dark Sun content, are evidence for the case. There's also the fact that a second Martial Power book will appear early next year, which all but means new martial classes are on the way. I think extra martial classes would fit right into a Dark Sun setting. Of course, I may be wrong, and it might be Dragonlance or an elaborated "Points of Light" that gets the nod. |
| #7the_badger_02Mar 01, 2009 16:19:37 | Or it could be a setting that's completely NEW. Dark Sun could be a complete possibility as far as the first 'dead' setting to get the rez, but it's also likely that there will be something new published in 2010. I think there's currently an equal possibility that they resurrect a setting as produce something we've not seen. ....And that was completely off topic, sorry. As mentioned PH3 seems almost guaranteed to have at least some psionic classes, unless they go with a 4/4 book. Reason we won't see it in the Eberron books is they don't want such large chunks of classes put into a setting book. For the most part you're going to be looking towards some iteration of Player's Handbook for classes and pretty much completely for power sources. |

The only classes we're likely to see in the EPG is the Artificer and (possibly) the Dragonmarks, if they do it like the Spellscars. |
| #9sigil_beguilerMar 01, 2009 16:56:34 | As others have said best bet is PHB3. Psionics will be just as equal of a Power Source as all others. So you will get them in a PHB, a Power Book, Dragon articles, etc, etc. |
| #10the_fanMar 01, 2009 17:02:57 | My bet is that PHB3 will include shadow, ki, and psionics. Ki is confirmed, shadow is suggested by the early appearance of several Shadow Paragon Paths, and psionics is a safe bet because Wizards knows there will be blood if it isn't. |
| #11tiwaztyrsfistMar 01, 2009 17:13:48 | Or Greyhawk. They did talk recently about their plans for 4e greyhawk. How they were rolling time BACK to before the wars. So, you know, they seem to have that pretty firmly planned out, it may be next. Although I would certainly prefer Dark Sun or something brand new for 2010 |
| #12BolongoMar 01, 2009 17:21:13 | Most of the conjecture in this thread is just that. At worst, it's no more than wishful thinking. All we can be sure of is that we will see a minimum of 4 Psionic classes by the time PH 4 is published, which will most likely be in the Spring of 2011. I am still not convinced that there will be any Psi in PH 3. Though the chance of a 4/2/2 class split has gone up slightly with the reveal that there will be an MP 2. And by "slightly" I mean up to about 5%, from the previous level of 0%. ![]() |
| #13tiwaztyrsfistMar 01, 2009 17:36:49 | Most of the conjecture in this thread is just that. At worst, it's no more than wishful thinking. So, I think you're wrong there. PHB 1 has a 4/2/2 class split PHB 2 has a 4/2/2 class split The way I look at things, that gives PHB 3 something on the order of a 100% chance of having a 4/2/2 class split. Granted a sample of 2 isn't so hot for statistical significance, but when the whole sample group says one thing, and the sample is 100% of available subjects, well, you have to give it some credit. |
| #14BolongoMar 02, 2009 1:43:28 | So, I think you're wrong there. This is the "all swans are white" argument. ![]() Quite apart from the philosophical problems with inductive reasoning, you're simply looking at occurences without considering the reasons for them. :P |
| #15Steely_DanMar 02, 2009 3:27:31 | My current speculations (nothing more): PHB III -Ardent = Psionic Defender -Empath = Psionic Leader -Illusionist = Shadow Controller -Monk = Ki Striker -Necromancer = Shadow Leader -Sohei/Soulknife = Ki Defender -Shaper/Wilder = Psionic Controller -Telepath/Kineticist = Psionic Striker -Ki Powers: Stunts -Psionic Powers: Manifestations -Shadow Powers: Mysteries |
