Will the Deluxe editions of the PHB, DMG, and MM which are scheduled for release in October include all the updates that have been compiled prior to September? Or will they be textually identical to the current (first) printings?

Good luck getting a reply on this. I posted a thread a month ago with no definitive reply. I contacted customer service a week ago and still no reply.

Hey WOTC? There are some of us who'd, you know, actually like to give you money. We just want to know what we're buying.

Got the definitive reply via e-mail (thanks CS! not the naswer I wanted, but at least I know!):

ME: Could you tell me if the "Deluxe" Editions of the Core books due for release in October will be updated to include any the errata/rules updates that have come out online in the past few weeks, or will these books be identical to those released in June?

CS: Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately the Deluxe Editions of the core rulebooks will not include any of the updates that have been released thus far. The Contents of these books will be identical to those that were released in June. Please let me know if you need anymore help!

That is such bull$*it. I don't get you WOTC, you're going to release these DELUXE edition books as is, when you perfectly knew in JUNE that they needed errata?

Guess what? Hope the employees have an annual camp out, you can use those Deluxe books for the bonfires. I ain't buying and good luck thinking others will knowing this.

Unbelievable.

See I think that what you are saying has some merrit but in some ways it is loose / loose for wizards. Lets say they released a fully updated version of the rules including the mod to stealth that at least one player has said wrecked is character and then in JULY they discover that they have to errata something what then?

All those who have brought the deluxe version of the PHB will be screaming blue murder as they have wasted money on a book that is "No longer relevant"

I think going with the original text is best cos no matter how they errata the book, you still know what you are paying for and that way there is one version of the text not two.

And lets say they do edit the text and there is a typo or error in the book that doesnt appear in the original what then?

I say unless wizards releases 3 binders and a CD Rom that contains PDFs of the text that you can print out and put in the binders with a registration program so they email you the updates with replacement pages to print so that you have the most current version of the rulebooks you cant really get something that will not leave you in some way ripped off. ANd those people who buy the binders will argue price point and why they have to pay for paper and say its not as good as the books.
