Will new printings of MM & MM2 have the new monster stats?

I'd buy them (again) if they did.

I wouldn't. I'd print them into cutepdf from the monster builder and make my own monster manuals.

I only buy the MMs for the fluff (and the art, to a lesser extent), since I rarely use non-homebrewed monsters, so there's nothing that would ever induce me to buy reprints. It does make sense for future printings of MM1 and 2 to at least use the new statblock format, though.

I doupt it.  All the monsters are still useable, or they'd basicly need to errata the whole book, which isn't feasable.

I wouldn't mind a "delux" edition with the already errated stuff in it though.  Perhaps all 3 MM books as a bundle.

Let's wait and see what the adventure tools update does the pre-mm3 monsters. If it increases their damage... well... I'll wait to say anything on that subject.

I'll agree with that.  At the very least, we have the new damage chart in the latest errata, so we have something to use as a basis for comparison.

Still, at least updating the stats and format in the monster builder would be nice.

I could see them updating the format, but i don't think the stats will change.  That would take a huge errata.

I doubt they will update old monsters.  In the past when they adjusted the solo hps to 4x normal instead of 5x normal for higher level monsters, they didn't change old solos that were 5x normal.  They have also said that the hydras in MM1 were not well designed and that their "fix" was the new hydras in MM2.  Granted this leads to a mess because there is nothing to tell you that they feel the original hydras were poorly designed so you could add them to adventure without knowing about the problem.  Despite the minions now having roles they haven't updated the old minions.

I usually update them myself when I copypasta the monsters from the D&D Insider Compendium into a Pages Document.  It's easier to read and run the monsters in the new format, so it's worth the time for me to update the monsters each session I run.  And if I use a MM3 monster, it's done for me!
