Will the next printing include the corrections?

Dec 22, 2008 11:04:27 I have a family member who is still deciding whether to buy the books, but they don't really want to unless the books have the pages of errata dealt with, like the premium versions do.

Is this going to happen, next printing... or ever?

The deluxe PHB, DMG and MM each include the current published errata and so will any future print runs of the standard versions. In March when we get the next set of errata any print runs of books done after that errata is published will include the new errata.

Jan 24, 2009 22:46:19 Is there some way I can get an official answer to this? It's just that fellow consumers seem to be at variance, wherever I have asked this question.

It would be a good thing if Wizards of the Coast did as many other RPG companies seem to do; that is, update each print run according to the latest errata. But I would simply like to know, whatever the case.

Jan 24, 2009 22:57:30 I would love to hear an official answer to this as well please want to buy a set for the guy who taught me dnd 15 years ago for his birthday ( he didn't like 3-3.5 but we made him play anyway), think he might enjoy the new changes like im hearing so many of the other 1st ed players are, but I would like a version with less error.

This was the relevant section from Wizards Customer Support's email to me, which was a very prompt reply, by the way: "Unfortunately, at this time, future re-printings will not include any rules updates."

Thank you, Customer Support, for being quick to respond, and for being honest about the intentions of your company. This, at least, is appreciated.

Nope.

Also, the premium books are now out dated.
New errata has been issued Since the premium books were released, and new printings of the premium books won't have the newer errata.

That's just the way that WotC works on that.

Unsubstantiated rumours at best, slanderous lies at worst. The Deluxe 4E PH, DMG and MM fully conform to the updates/errata up to and including version 4, published 2009-01-20, verified by yours truly. Those seeking verification can observe photographic evidence in a post I made in a similar thread @ ENWorld.
That's just the way that WotC works on that.

Please do not confuse reality with your version of it.

Huh. So what that really means is, WotC published books with those changes in them 3 months ago, but didn't make the updates available to non-owners of these books until just recently.
