That's better than throwing in dozens of magic weapons in the campaigns. Will there be something similar for 4th edition in the future? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weapons_of_Legacy |

If you find a sword that you really like, there are options for you to upgrade it or even change or transfer the enchantment all together. Then there are artifacts for all levels of play, too. much like aspects of Tome of Battle were incorporated into 4E I can see aspects from other supplements. I could definitely see an article about them, perhaps detailing different ways of going about them in 4E. |

I thought, "Hey, official rules for stuff I've been doin for years..." Then when I read the implimentation, I was completely underwhelmed. WoL essentially consisted of weapons where the cost was more than the benefit. If I recall, there was more than one weapon that had bonuses that didn't offset the penalty it gave to base attack. Which meant a fighter-type using it was worse off than using a standard item. And any melee class that used it without having a full base attack, was kicked even harder. Now, I realize that part of my disappointment was that I had higher expectations than the book delivered. That said, I still adore the concept. If they can do it without penalizing a character for taking something flavorful, I'll be 100% behind it. |
