Dear Santa I mean WoTC

I have been a fairly good patron...I mean person this year, so here is my wish list for Christmas...or game day :D I have shortened the list from 100 to 10

#1 Huge Green Dragon miniature

#2 Soft cover books for D&D accessory books like Arcane Power etc (6 months after release or something) So us poor people can buy all the books too

#3 High quality flip maps (desert, lava, arctic, forest, swamp,), keep it very general.

#4 Huge Black Dragon Miniature

#5 D&DI Game table brought back <- ;)

#6 Large Purple(deep) Dragon

#7 Huge Hydra Miniature

#8 Gargantuan Red Dragon

#9 Eye of Frost Miniature

#10 Driders
#2

#10 was released originally in Giants of Legend and released again more recently in Deserts of Desolation.

What exactly are you looking for? Do you want different poses/roles/classes? Perhaps you want the new DDM format to include visible Driders?

Just curious.

Possible but I doubt the price would really be any different unless they went cheap cardstock style cover like many other RPG books do, and even then I doubt you'd see more than a $5 difference or so.

#5 D&DI Game table brought back <- ;)

While we have no release date provided to us they've never officially scrapped it, just put it on hold/back burner to focus on getting tools out that can be finished faster. They have started on the game table but the last time I got a glimpse of it, it wasn't near ready to release and is a very complex program, especially if they keep with the goal of having 3D minis for it for all the players/monsters.

#8 Gargantuan Red Dragon
They have one in the icons collection though it's hard to find at this point.

#9 Eye of Frost Miniature

They had one as a repaint of the Behodler from Dungeons of Dread so you could possibly find one on the secondary market though it does have the eye of flames body so wouldn't match the body given to it in MM2

I'd love to see more in the icons line for the Gargantuan sized monsters, especially the dragons. I have the black one currently and want to get the white and blue at least if I can find them somewhere.

My Top 10:

1) Release the missing 7 issues of Dragon 361-363 and Dungeon 151-154 as complied PDF's as originally promised.

2) Bring back the Game Table to my insider subscription.

3) Give me free PDF's with errata included (or at a discount) if I bought the hard copy book.

4) I still play 3.5 and 4th editions. How about giving us mosters from the monster summoning list as minis? Did we really need a third harpy, or medusa archer in Dangerous Delves?

5) Restore Vecna's dignity. (Did you see the sculpt from Dangerous Delves?)

6) On PC minis, how about doing the new races? Deva and shifter, etc.

7) Do an Icons release of a Gargantuan Green Dragon, use Cyan Bloodbane and include a black-robed Rasitlin.

8) Do an Icons release of Orcus

9) Pick Better Huge Minis for production. Of the 36 Huge minis released to date, we have 2 Treants and 2 Red Dragons. Don't get me started on the Bluespawn God-slayer. (I think Frost Titan and Rehmoraz are suspected for the next huges, that's a good start).

10) Reprint the out of print Dungeon Tiles

mine consist out of

(1) a defender or controller monk. (striker? Mister Miagi would weep ...)
(2) a consistant rule for if wizards can use quarterstaffs as implement

edit: I just got number 3 on my list:
(3) a monster manual for player friendly monster (not neccecairely a stat block, but skill challenges, campaign hooks, etc),

My Top 10 (in no particular order):
  • Have mechanics for firearms be introduced; the weapons, feats, paragon paths, etc. Not just muskets either, but stuff like revolvers and repeating rifles and as far up the technology tree as their willing to go. However, keeping it balanced (it is fantasy so the way that our metal armour reacts to bullets need not apply).
  • Have specific Setting Builder books. Each book would cover different mechanics, and plot hooks for specific setting types. Such as Pseudoscience, Steampunk, Age of Sails, etc. This would be how they could introduce Oriental Adventures.
  • Elan! (Hopefully in PHB3)
  • More options for Spiked Gauntlets.
  • Pseudoscience being part of Psionics in PHB3.
  • A book just devoted to Sigil (DMG2 is nice but I would like to see more).

Can't think of the rest right now.

I would like stats for Asmodeus, please. Not immediately, necessarily, but sometime within the next 2 years, before my players reach Level 30.
----

Asmodeus • Level 35 Solo Controller (Leader)
Medium immortal humanoid (devil) • XP 235,000

----
The rest is up to you, Wizards monster designer guys.

Well your exp is really off considering a level 34 solo is 195,000 xp (47,000 is for a standard enemy).

He'd have to be at least 35 if not higher since demogorgon is 34.

PDFs (and ones that don't cost more than hardcover books, at that, in fact they should ideally be free with the hardcover book)

A book of challenges (traps, skill challenges, and interesting terrain/situations for combat to take place in).

Gametable.

More unique solo devils in general would be nice. We've had what, Dispater and one other guy whose name eludes me from a Dragon article so far? Meanwhile we've seen Orcus, Demogorgon, Graz'zt, Baphomet, and (in Dragon) Yeenoghu. Quite the gap, there.

Of course, it might all be a cunning plan. Does Asmodeus plan on winning the Blood War once and for all by getting all the leaders of the Abyss killed by adventurers, while his own supporters remain untouchable for lack of stats? Hmmm. ;)

That icon is colossal, not gargantuan. Whch doesn't help much, since the "Colossal" size category has been scrapped.

I would like to see dominion rules like they had in OD&D Rules Cycopedia and/or Birthright. Stronghold rules as well, like the old Castles guide for 2nd edition and the stronghold guide for 3rd.

Ravenloft for 4th edition in the form of a player's guide, campaign guide and a adventure.

Same for Mystara.

A sword and sorcery style world, which can be argued that Dark Sun would fit this.

Rules for firearms.

Well in 4e that'd still work, since gargantuan is 4x4 and up in size so collosal would just be a 'big' gargantuan

In order
1/ Dark Sun (buy it back)<- I'd pay a lot for this

2/ Huge Green dragon miniature. Come on, it's the classic forest Dragon and the game IS dungeons and DRAGONS! <- I'd pay a lot for this too

3/ Stats for the Large Fire elemental I am so disapointed that MM2 still does not have it... I have the miniature for pete sake.

4/ Also stats for Brass & Bronze Dragons..again very disapointed that they are not in MM2

5/ Nine hells/ abyssal tiles set or map. <- I'd pay more for this

6/ Swamp & Snow/Ice tiles sets or maps <- I'd pay more for this

7/ Psionics

8/ Giant Ant Miniature

9/ Licence locked PDFs that come with hardcover books.

10/ Less repeated Miniatures and more of the missing ones from the 2 4e Monster Manuals.

11/ Large Deep/Purple Dragon

I guess I better stop hehe

@OP: No love for the Blue dragihns? I want some huge Blue Dragons, please! :D I just got a large one off ebay, and I already have a huge dracolich (which is also a blue, of course!), and my better half just got a Gargantuan one for herself! Now we just need a Huge one to complete the family!

I second the call for a huge green dragon, but I think you can modify the Sorcerer on Black dragon to... not have the sorcerer. :D

On the Large Purple Dragon: Isn't there one already released somewhere? I think it was a large deep dragon... A huge one would be great, though. :P

And oh, yes on the gargantuan red. :D

I think you are the third one to Second the Huge Green Dragon. I will second your huge Blue & gargantuan red and put out the call for a Gargantuan Green as well. . Dragons are what it's all about. I know a couple people who don't play either the mini game or the RPG and they buy the Dragons bcz they collect them. Look at how well the Adamantine Dragon is doing in the monster showdown.

1. WotC recalls the complete Heroes miniatures line and sues the Chinese supplier for breach of contract. (You guys do have some minimum quality requirements in your contract, do you??)

2. A Necromancer class

3. A Blackguard class

4. Battlerager gets errata. WotC stops calling errata updates.

5. WotC finally understands they're a publishing company and stops trying to go digital. Instead, they find a company to do the online game table that actually understands how to do digital RPGs. How about Blizzard?

6. WotC hires people who know how to do a Website where you actually find stuff

7. Interesting freebies that make me want to shell out 10 bucks for D&D Insider every month. How about a D&D webcomic? How about a "rejected ideas" section for "fringe" as opposed to "core", where the designers can just throw ideas around, like firearms rules, monster conversions, whacky game world ideas, anything?

8. Kobolds, Hobgoblins, lizardfolk, yuan-ti tainted one and Shadar-Kai get the full PHB treatment

9. More stuff for interesting class-race combinations that don't fit from the ability score bonuses, like dwarven warlord, tiefling ranger...

A. A Sigil sourcebook

B. WotC hires an art director that brings D&D artwork back to where it was in 3rd edition. No more 30% whitespace, missing padding, bad editing...

C. German translation of 4th edition (whatever, just hire me to do it, credentials on request)

D. Minis: brain in a jar, knight on horseback, deva cleric, deva avenger, deva wizard, female gnome, female warforged, succubus, centaur druid, female centaur, githzerai wizard, earth genasi fighter, fire genasi swordmage, water genasi rogue, stormsoul genasi wizard...

E. Plot-driven adventure modules

F. A swordmage path with charisma as secondary stat, a rogue path with intelligence, a barbarian with dexterity, a warlord with wisdom, a fighter with charisma, a sorcerer with intelligence

Psionic, Shadow and divine in the PH3, with Elan and Shadar-Kai...

And a HUGE pack of 100000000 miniatures of dragons with a adventure with only dragon encounters from levels 1 to 30.

And a minis pack of genasies...

Yes, yes, and abso-****ing-lutely yes! The main reason I bought so many 3pp products during 3e is that they often explored avenues that WotC ignored. That's probably one of the few things that could actually make me want a DDI subscription (or maybe the gametable, but unless they follow #5 I'm pretty sure it'll never happen).

1) A mini for each race/class/gender combo. I mean, these are minis players are going to be using ALOT. Having to 'make do' with mismatched monsters is tolerable, but PC minis should be the ones with the single most effort put into them.

2) Stop treating minis like card game booster packs. If I'm playing a published adventure with an undead/goblinoid/dragon/aberrant theme, I should be able to buy minis packs with undead/goblinoid/dragon/aberrant themes. And no - 'Dungeons of Dread' is not a theme. Nor is 'Dangerous Delves'.

3) Don't give me two or three minion minis in a box when your published encounters need around ten. I have not been 'collecting' minis since the dawn of time, and as a starter, DMing a lvl 1 party, I need a way to get into minis without owning seven useless high level monsters, but only four minion types.

4) Keep the Character Creator as well stocked as it is for a long time. A big thumbs up there from me.

5) Do what you've said you will concerning repackaging the Dungeon and Dragon Magazines' content. A DM Mag and a Player Mag just makes sense, why was it ever any other way??

6) Supply Dungeon Tiles with Adventure books. That way I can use them again for other adventures, rather than the limited fold-out maps currently included. I am currently, for the Scales of War campaign I'm running, having to print off maps downloaded from other sources, it's very inconvenient and a waste of paper and ink.

A. A Sigil sourcebook

Lets combine those... A Sigil Sourebook Player's Guide with the Kobold, Hobgoblin... (Ick), Lizardfolk (uh... differentiated from the Dragonborn?), Yuan-Ti, Shadar Kai (This may go in the PHB4), Knoll, Devil, Ogre, Half-Giant, Vampire, Lupine, Tibbit, and others I may not have mentioned as playable character races.

Bua? That is a odd grouping. While Sigil has a wide, wide variety of races existing within it the majority are usually of some planar-relation. As such stuff like Raavastas, Slaad, Modron, etc. would make more sense. Especially since there is so much to be done with Sigil only a few races could be fully covered.

Stuff like Knoll, Ogre, etc. would make more sense for a normal PHB since those races have more close relations with the normal world which is where the PHB is mainly based.

I listed them because they don't belong in a PHB. Evil MM races, if given a full write up, should be in the setting guides where they have a niche, not in the generic PHB PoL settings. Sigil might have a good reason to become the Savage Species of this new edition.
#34

sigil_beguiler

May 26, 2009 17:49:44
Once more I got to go bua? While diverse races are a common theme in Sigil, it is a minor one, especially when it comes to portraying more savage races in their traditional roles. In Sigil you are likely to have a Knoll be a well groomed merchant who dyes his fur and braids it, etc. Not the traditional Knoll image which would be want to be done in a book.

Sigil is based around New Weird, not a feeling that suits Savage Species (which is more traditional in many regards). The base PHB fits it much more, with collapsed kingdoms, primal powers existing in the world, etc. It is a place where more savage races could find a foot-hole amongst the more civilized races.

By combining the two you would be diluting the flavour and feel, not to mention dividing what crunch there would be for both.
#35

thax

May 26, 2009 17:57:32
See, that is what I don't want to happen. Teddy Bear Orcs and cute, fwuffy Gnolls. I understand that everything in Sigil is completely turned around. This is why it would be a good place to put these races, away from their savage cultures and bad habits, not that Sigil would make for flowers and ribbons.

Savage Species was flawed in that it made the races in context to the evil and contrived backgrounds that they came from. I see a different way to have player races in Sigil, and still have them be rare in the normal worlds. It is like the Bazarr in the Myth series of books, where a central location breeds unlikely heroes.

My wishlist for 4e D&D

1. Bring back all of the old spells as Powers or Rituals. Admittedly, a lot of old spells have been brought back in that fashion, but More options don't hurt.

2. "Classic Dungeons" for 4e. Castle Ravenloft, Ruins of Castle Greyhawk, ect.

3. "Assassin Article" style updates for favorite classes that don't warrant a full class write up. (Mostly I'd love to see Blackguard, Swashbuckler, Necromancer, and Soulknife make a comeback in one way or another, but I'm not sure that all of those warrant a full class write up.)

4. Series of books that give advice on running other forms of game beyond Dungeon Crawl. Sort of like Manual of the Planes for Cities and Deep woods and the like. But also include rules for giving D&D other flavors like Horror, Film Noir, or even Spaghetti Western.

5. PDF books with a form of DRM that works. I'm thinking something like Steam or Impulse.

6. More Dungeon Tiles...and reprint older sets perhaps?

7. D&D Minis fully visible Encounter packs instead of Random Pull.

8. High quality "Reference Tablets". Sort of like the Backside of the DM's Screen for players but with less info (Like maybe just a list of combat actions and status effects.

9. Community Outreach programs.

10. Force JMS and Dan Abnett to co-write a Good D&D based movie.

My wishlist for 4e D&D

1. A way for classes to use something weird as an Implement, like armor, crossbows or a monks unarmed strike.

2. Dual Power Source Paragon Paths. the Rage Mage could be an example of one, Primal/Arcane, you get the idea.

3. More character theme mechanics articles, like the Gladiator and Assassin ones, but for more than just Martial classes

4. More Bloodlines

5. More MC only classes like Spellscared

6. And lastly, I want WotC to make the coolest Martial Controller class anyone could have ever thought of, then I want them to burn all traces of it before any of us gets to see it, then slap anyone who sheds a tear for it in the face and scream at them that they will never get a Martial Controller ever and that they don't diserve to be happy.

Fingers crossed.
