I've thought over the eventual upcoming Feywild book(s). One thing I'd LOVE would be an exploration of the Seasonal Courts and the Formarian Shadow Courts. It would be awesome to see a pack of paragon paths associated with the 4 Season Courts.

Rake of the Spring Court
Autumn Vizier
Spymaster of Winter
Solider of Summer
etc, etc.

I'd love a full exploration of how the court operates and how it relates to the Material World.

I'd also like some things like:

Gnomish Liberator
Stats on playing a Formorian (maybe)
Skill challenges tied to the various courts, the dangers of the Feywild, etc.

And natch, more critters.

You?

I want more ED's for becoming Archfey. :D

I really liked the idea of the Winter Sovereign ED.

Epic stats for Archfeys like the leaders of each court and stuff. Some locations too.

I would love to a section on a Goblin/Troll/Fey Market. There be lots of fluff parts like how to make it fantastical, bizarre, etc. It would also include NPCs, and lots of bizarre and I mean bizarre items you could potentially buy or trade (perhaps rules/ideas for making odd bartering schemes).

Obviously more Fey creatures.

Talk about areas where the Feywild and World mix. Or how Feywild seeps into the World. Show how otherworldly the Feywild is, so talk about say... The landscape itself reacts to people (I would love to see a whole list of environmental traps and hazards).

Fey Court politics and stats.

Seconding all of the above, plus a bit about running fey encounters with specific pointers. For example "always leave something unknown about a faerie" or "red is a symbol of faerie, and in forms X, Y, and Z has the following meanings" or "faeries view immortality thus...and it affects their dealings with mortals thus..."

Would buy such a book in a heartbeat.

Think the court books may come with a copyright infringement case from White Wolf, as changeling kinda already did all this!

That'd be a hard fight as earlier D&D also did this, as did many of the books written over a century ago about the 'little folk'.

As interesting as WW's World of Darkness can be other than making everying overly angsty they really don't have any new ideas in their system. They borrow very, very heavily off real world folklore, literature, and movies.

Not at all. The Seelie and Unseelie courts, Queen Titania, Queen Mab, Lord Oberon, and so on and so forth predate the ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

White Wolf, has, in the past, learned that they can't win a lawsuit against WotC even when they have a real case.

If they tried to something that stupid, they'd probably end up being fined by the court for bringing a frivolous suit.

Exactly. I'm sure WoTC will flavor it uniquely. Then again TSR copyrighted the term Nazi. *snerk*

Bump for feywild book, maybe combined with the shadowfell.

The feywild and shadowfell are good for adventures from levels 3 to 30, whereas if you go off to the abyss you darn well better be epic.

I'd rather there be two books, one for each, Feywild and Shadowfell. That way they can give more Archfey realms, courts and a bit on the Formorians in the feydark.
Then the Shadowfell can cover more Domains of Dread, Death giants and the Raven Queen.

In a Feywild book, I would want to see more about the elven gods- Corellon, Sehanine, and Lolth. Articles like the pre-4e one which discussed the diversion of elves and eladrin really helped me get into 4e's world story, and more information about how the three used to be worshiped as a trinity.

I too would like more stuff on the archfey and the fey courts that be. Noble eladrin with those special names make me happy on the inside.

Hopefully Firbolgs at least will make it into MM2, rather than having to wait for the Feywild Book; the Feywild Book should be able to provide more incarnations, however.

No matter how much I change for my own setting, the core Feywild is something I would very much like covered. I was very disappointed that we only got a couple paragraphs each for only the major aspects of the Feywild. You have to dig through Monster knowledge in order to get bits and pieces of the story. With the coming of [/i]The World Below[/i], I'm greatly looking forward to the notion that each plane will get its own fluff book.

Feywild is probably my favourite plane in the new system, followed by the Shadowfell. As such, I hope they do the Feywild next year; they seem to be following an alternate release schedule to the classes (though four Elemental Classes next spring could defeat that notion). Should Shadow Power get fleshed out, Shadowfell Book would be very much appreciated. As it stands however, I hope to get the Feywild Book next (after MoP and TPB).

Firbolgs are essential Feywild elements of my stories, and thus I'm very keen on seeing them fleshed out. Spriggans have been mentioned by fluff as Gnomes that have been corrupted by the Fomorian's slavery; but instead of Spriggans, we got Korreds as a "Dark" Gnome monster race. I'd like to see the departure of Gnomes, Spriggans, and Korreds, and I wonder if it's of some similarity to the Dwarves, Azers, and Galeb Duhrs, since both races were enslaved by Giants (as were the Shadowfell natives, the Dark Ones).

I'd love a LOT more on Fomorians; they're one of the coolest elements of the Feywild, and I'd like to see more on Drow and their presence in the Feydark, rather than being solely the province of the Underdark.

I'd like them to clarify the relationship of Primal Spirits and the Feywild as well, since they overlap in theme, concept, and classes as well (example: Druids' Beast form can be like a Natural or Fey Beast).

All-in-all, one of my most looked-forward-to books.

Stats on playing a Formorian (maybe)

As they are a large race (huge?) I don't see that happening, but I totally dig the idea of a Fey book, period (have wanted one for many years), and that covers a lot of what you posted, and especially as I have been running a Planescape campaign for the past 3 years with a heavy Fey/Seelie Court/Unseelie Court theme.

…And I want a playable Killmoulis race!

*laughs* Really? Ya. I've been totally thinking I'd run my Knight of the Feywild game one day. Think Visionaries the old 80's cartoon, mixed with a dash of Sailor Moon, and loads of Knightly action.

I'd be interested in a Half-Fomorian race with +2 Str, +2 Cha (giving us a second really good Paladin race), is Medium (but a big medium, like Goliath), and has significantly more magical prowess than the Goliath, including an Evil Eye Racial Power.

Actually, that's one of the races I'm building myself, heh...

This. All of this. The Feywild is the one plane in the new cosmology that really gets me going, and I want to know more about the new takes on the old elven gods, especially Corellon, since I'm a fan of the old one.

Though I wonder if detail on Corellon, Sehanine et al might be put in an Astral Sea book instead. Though if Corellon is one of the more commonly worshipped gods for Eladrin, it'd make sense to put more detail into their religious beliefs. (They mentioned Erevan Ilesere in the MotP, I'm dying to know if the rest of the Seldarine are around still in some form.)

But yeah, more on the Archfey and such == Do Want.

Also want EDs for Archfey of the other seasons besides Winter.

More fey PPs and EDs, more fey monsters (both: new one and builds for existing one), more/more extensive description of places, more archfeyinfo, adventure hooks weapons, armour, item, magic items, rituals,...

Also I'm wondering, what the format of a fey book would be: a "plane book" like MotP and The plane below, or an "origin based" book like Open Grave? However, bring it on quick. :D

The big question, though. Should the Feywild book be a Manual of the Planes-style mix of DM and Player material, or DM-only like Open Grave?

On the one hand, it's fun to speculate on the possible items and paragon paths a book could offer. On the other side of the coin, however, each path is a page that isn't devoted to discussing the Winter court, each set of items removes the slot of another Fey monster.

(note, I'm slightly on the OG side of the table, but I can see the benefit of a MotP style as well. Thus, beware, the following be tainted by opinion, yes indeed!)

If there's one thing I love about the Open Grave style, it's the overall completeness of the book. Back to front, it covers all sorts of undead goodness, from hauntings to grafts to ghastly ghouls to greet your adventuring party. It covers the theme extremely well, even managing to throw in some nifty artifacts and npcs from DnD's past.

To cover the Feywild, I think it would be better to have that kind of focus. NPC sections to cover the courts, political layouts of the seasons, a host of Fey monsters and colorful characters, a few snippets of possible history tie-ins, interactions of the mortal and Fey worlds, outlandish environments within the Wild's lush expanse, a day-to-day running of a Feywild city, how Pact and Primal magic relates to the Feywild realm.....so many possible pieces of information to sink one's teeth into. Personal opinion, but I just don't want to sacrifice a lot of good information for yet another set of more magic swords and staves in addition to Adventurer's Vault, or yet another fighter paragon path which will barely ever see play. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind setting one page aside for the aforementioned Fey Lord epic destiny. That would be the exception, methinks. :D

I'd also like to see a small part about intelligent talking animals. The MoP already says fewild animals are smart, but it doesn't say anthing about them being able to talk or be characters. Considering the emphasis placed on reducing the need for gear, an intelligent animal char will likely work better in this edition than the last.

I desperately seek to see a fat section on Fey psychology. That is something to definitely explore. Faeries are alien to us, in their terms of morals/priorities/logic.

Next, skill challenges relating to say, escaping a faerie revel (fey parties that, if mortals join, are forever trapped in it).

Making deals with fey. Rules (or at least suggestions) about faerie deals.

Good point. Thinking of it, this will probably also depend on how much resources for players already exist. Undead an related things (with the exception of the dhampyr) are nearly exclusive DM material. But Fey have already a lot of stuff on the player side. Therefore my guess would be, that a book about fey would have much more player support than open grave.

My biggest wish is that the book gets split into two: one book on the plane of Feywild, the different courts, and kingdoms past and present; one on the Fey themselves, their psychology, and Fey of different worlds (Material, shadowfell, Arvandor, etc.). I don't right care how much PC-friendly material is in either, or how far apart they publish them, but a lot of monster stats would be pleasing.

Realistically, all I wish is that we get one book of Fey. WotC, please no Fiendish Codex III: More Demons! , give us some Fey love!

My vote would be for a Manual of the Planes style mix for the Feywild. If we wanted a DM-only book, just publish some separate Feywild adventures.

The great selling point of the Feywild as a setting is how players from the low heroic to the high epic can adventure there, and a Feywild book should accept that range.

This book could focus on Feywild races (Eladrin, Gnomes, and Elves) maybe with alternative builds (say eladrin who, instead of teleporting, are masters of charm, or gnomes who, instead of going invisible, are masters of illusion).

This book might include not only items and feats, but also the "weird and wonderful" stuff from Celtic mythology.

For DM's, the book could investigate not only the traditional rivalry between Corelion and Lolth, but also between the Summer and Winter Courts, the Eladrin and the Firbolgs, and the like.

For DM's, the book could also include material for "faerie rings" or places where the Feywild leaks through into the mortal world, for those who do not care to run a full Feywild campaign.

I would gladly buy a book that included all this stuff

The Feywild is definitely the most interesting plane in the new cosmology. I would like to see an MotP style mix of player and DM material, because fey PPs and EDs would be made of awesome.

I also say, though, I want a ton o' monsters in this book. We're a little bit short on fey right now.

I think they're gonna make these wishes reality. There's much fey love inside WotC since the advent of 4e and even sometime before.

As I always say, we must thank Guillermo del Toro for that. Who would have thought that so much love for fey (and innovation on the theme) would come from Mexico... But maybe there's a reason for it, maybe I don't know my birthplace that much after all.

Although I really would like some more info on the Court of Stars and the other Archfey, what I truly want is the return of Obad-Hai.
After the cosmology changes from 4th, I've always envisioned him as a Primordial trapped in a round, floating cage chained to the earth, with a huge tree growing around it. Like the Iifa Tree from FFIX, just on an earthmote or something.

What is the Spiral tower?

Back to the 2nd edition idea of planar pathways I like the idea that it mirrors the world tree and the mountain of Letherna being gates to the upper planes.

Also an idea I like, that the Spiral Tower is a vast shifting extradimensional, illusion ridden maze created by Correllon to test arcanists. An adventure site like undermountain, endless quest ideas, whether you accompany your party's wizard on his test at paragon level, seek an Eladrin sage lost in the corridors, or need to seek out an ancient artifact buried deep in the walls. Well maybe not endless but certainly those three.

Hrm, in no order, yes, please tell us more about the spiral tower, the fey towns that shift into our world and then back again, the fey circles of the feywild AND prime material. How exactly you can travel to Arvandor from the Feywild (I don't see why they could not just put Arvandor IN the Feywild). Paragon Level fey courts (such as for the Queen of Air and Darkness) and epic level fey courts (such as the Summer and Winter). Add in lots and lots of gnome villages, they formorians and fey-dark. Ruined fey cities. Lots of centaurs, satyrs, and other "fey" type monsters//creatures. Also go back to 2.0 through 3.5 and bring forward all the "sidebar lore" etc that we used to have (such as that Prestige Class where your job was to hunt for a missing eladrin city).
