| #1oldonesMay 06, 2011 9:39:53 | It has been nearly 20 years since Aaron Allston wrote the Cyclopedia which combined and modified all of Frank Metner's boxed set, and Wrath of the Immortal which replaced his Immortals Boxed set. It would be nice to have them bring these back with some campaigns. In my opinion, there is no greater adventure character than an Immortal character. I put them in high level solo campaigns using the adventures designed for several high level mortals. While in the prime plane I merely remove the immortal's immunity to mortal magic and allow them to take the minimum die damage, much like when they are hit by mortal physical blows. |
| #2sjmcc13May 06, 2011 12:23:33 | Basic D&D has been out of print for over a decade. It is gone because it is outdated, as most people like to customize their characters as opposed to playing Bob the Fighter v6.3. Essentials is as close to basic as we are going to get any more. |
| #3GarthanosMay 08, 2011 19:08:40 | Adventures focusing on Epic Tier could very well be a game about immortals add in rules about extending play during that tier... and use a social sort of divine hierarchy shrug I am not that familiar with what is being discussed so I could be left field altogether. |
