#1 3rdEyeFrog May 11, 2010 13:13:35	Last year, I bought 2 boxes of M10 and 2 M10 fatpacks.  Absolutely loved it.  First time I had played Magic in 15 years.  Why did I love it?  Because it was back to the basics. Now I don't honestly plan to play 4E, but I have been scoping it out over the last year.  I plan to buy the Essential Red Box starter set, Essential Rules Compendium(reminds me of the Rules Cyclopedia), and the Essentials Monster Manual.  All 3 of these give me retro vibes, and will be a blast to look at reminding me of the good ol days when I ran my own little campaign in the early to mid 90s! Next up we have Ravenloft & Dragonfire Mountain!  I am really excited about these!  I love dungeoncrawler boardgames and these look awesome!  I like how each is self-contained and from the pictures I have seen it looks like they will have scripted adventures(like Hero Quest/Descent) and random adventures(like Warhammer Quest).  I hope they keep making these and do Tomb of Horrors, Underdark, and Dark Sun.  These would be great gateway drugs to get boardgamers into D&D. I know, I'm not really a core customer because I usually just buy the hardcover Drizzt novels and the Forgotten Realms campaign guide once every five years but it really seems they are making an attempt to get new people and old-schoolers interested again. Who knows, maybe I'll bust out the dice and play some 4E as well!
