| #1Xaielao2Mar 19, 2009 14:25:12 | Waited with baited breath for my PHB2 to arrive. I got it day of release but two of my players had to wait for theirs until today and were annoying the crap out of me by being here every day to poor over mine lol. I barely had time to read it myself. But thats not the real topic of the post. Now that the PHB2 is out I'm looking ahead, particularly to Arcane Power coming out next month. My DMPC is a Feylock so I cant wait for it and my players are eager to check it out as well, though none of them are playing arcane classes at this time. I go to check to see when Arcane Power is coming out and notice.. it's not till the last week of April, when I'll be out of state and not able to pick it up. :/ Why, WotC, must you release your best material in the later part of the month. I want my Arcane Power ASAP and the next book within a week of it's release month, or else! :P |

| #3EinlanzerMar 19, 2009 14:33:30 | Yes, I thought it was coming out on the 2nd. there's a big difference between the 2nd and the 17th. Also, I don't mean to be a nitpicky elitist but it's 'bated (as in to abate), not baited ![]() |

| #9kylarusMar 28, 2009 10:56:38 | I think it might have to do with when people are more easily able to buy things. A lot of bills come due around the 1st and 15th, the beginning and middle of the month, but more focused on the beginning. On a biweekly pay day, people are more likely to have a bit of extra money left over near the end of the money to spend on things like books and releasing a brand new shiny book when people have left over money grabs their attention, as opposed to the book that has been out during the previous pay check and has had time to be picked apart. |

Either bills or the ever dastardly Rent for those of us who have to pay rent in advance. |

| #13ShiftkittyMar 29, 2009 0:34:16 | I appreciate not having to choose between rent and other utilities versus new D&D books. It's also fun to see my husband say "It's that time of month again!" with a big smile on his face. |
| #14unfamiliarMar 29, 2009 6:53:47 | Most of my expenses like rent take a bite out of my wallet at the beginning of the month, so the fact that WotC releases books mid-month is fine by me. I'm not exactly strapped for cash, but I still appreciate being able to buy any new book coming out without ever having to worry about double-checking my bank balance. I'm sure others would have to crunch numbers like a min-maxer just to make it happen if the books came out on the 1st, so it makes sense if they want to increase their overall sales. When it comes to having patience, I don't even care about the exact release date - 1st or 17th of the month makes no difference to me. As long as I can still get my hands on that shiny new book I want, it's all good. |
