| #1icefyreNov 20, 2008 19:13:36 | I originally posted this issue under the Installation problems thread, but after there had been no response there, I tried to research the problem myself. The error that appears is this:![]() If I am reading the dialogue correctly, the problem is that the .NET Web Proxy is not being opened correctly. I tried to find out a little about how to fix the problem, but have just found dead ends. There was one fellow who had the same problem with a different application he was developing and asked on a Microsoft forum how to fix it, and he was helpfully told that that wasn't the correct place to ask. Thread closed. Hopefully someone here might be a bit more helpful, though I realise that I seem to be in the minority with this problem. System information: Windows Vista 64, ESET personal Security (makes no difference if it's uninstalled), .Net 3.5 SP1, connecting to the internet via LAN -> router ->phoneline. Icefyre |
| #2icefyreNov 22, 2008 19:02:51 | Well I did a new install of Windows Vista (64, Ultimate), installed the .NET 3.5 SP 1 and now the character builder works like a charm. I'll keep on checking on it while I install the rest of my old software to see if I can recreate the problem. Icefyre Edit: Reinstalled most of the software that was on my computer beforethe reinstallation, but I haven't managed to recreate the problem. |
