| #1JhariiJun 19, 2011 19:13:55 | Let's remain constructive and civil here, as well as trying to remain realistic. Fill in the blanks: In 3 months, I would like to be able to __________________ with DDI. In 6 months, I would like to be able to __________________ with DDI. In 12 months, I would like to be able to __________________ with DDI. I will begin. In 3 months, I would like to be able to access DDI via an API. In 6 months, I would like to be able to use a fully featured Monster/Encoutnter editor with DDI, complete with art assets (images/tokens). In 12 months, I would like to be able to maintain a social site in my profile with campaign/adventure details, integrated with DDI. |
| #2NyarlathotepJun 19, 2011 19:36:50 | In three months I'd like to be able to actually build monsters with the monster builder and to modify my sheets in the CB. In six I'd like to be able to play games with a more fully featured (i.e. with many more tiles), no longer beta VT. In 12 I'd like to be trying out a campaign/adventure planner ala masterplan, but with full DDI integration, |
| #3JohnduBoisJun 19, 2011 20:03:48 | In three months, I'd like to be able to use the Monster Builder to create, modify, and level monsters correctly so that I can use them in Living Forgotten Realms adventures. In six months, I'd like to be able to use an character builder/viewer tool that has offline function (think i4e for iPhone and iPad) that is compatible with iOS (iPad at a minimum, iPad and iPhone preferred). In twelve months, I'd like to see DDI's online tools abandon Silverlight entirely for something that has better utility across mobile platforms. |
| #4Plaguescarred1Jun 19, 2011 20:54:54 | In 3 months, I would like to be able to build and customize monsters with the Monster Builder and Character Sheet with the Character Builder. In 6 months, I would like to be able to use the completed D&D VT with lots of Maps, Tilesets and Tokens. In 12 months, I would like to be able to BETA Test the new Treasure Builder and Encounter Builder, two new integrated eTool that can IMPORT/EXPORT items in the Builder as well as Traps or hazards in the VT. |
| #5jfiguraJun 19, 2011 21:12:52 | In 3 months I want to see the Monster Builder, actually be editable. In 6 months I want to see a Beta of an advneture builder, that can import AND export In 12 months, I too want to see the Silverlight garbage more effecient, or forgotten for better technology. I am really tired of the slowness of the site in browsers outside of IE |
| #6Kalex_the_OmenJun 20, 2011 6:34:50 | 3 months - Beta of next Adventure Tool. MB fully functional. CB able to allow for Campaign specific include/exclude settings. Character viewer applet for PC, Android, and Mac OSes. 6 months - Beta of third Adventure Tool. CB includes custom content editor. 12 months - Beta of fourth Adventure Tool. |
| #7kimbleJun 20, 2011 8:24:43 | 3 Months: CBuilder with 'house rules' option, MBuilder with 'customize monster' option. 6 Months: Encounter Generator: works with MBuilder and let´s you create encounters using Dungeon Tiles. 12 Months: Campaign Manager: let me write, create and share my campaign online. It would integrate it all and let me prepare my games online, anywhere. |
| #8DevereauxJun 20, 2011 8:45:14 | In 3 months I hope the new online monster builder allows monsters to be exported. |
| #9The_JesterJun 20, 2011 10:03:31 | In 3 months, I would like to be able to make & export custom monsters and use the VTT with DDI. In 6 months, I would like to be able to have regular & reliable updates on the programs with DDI. In 12 months, I would like to be able to access to all past issues of Dragon (1 and up) with DDI |
| #10soklemonJun 20, 2011 10:03:40 | In 3 Months I'd like MB to have all the functions of it's predeccessor. In 6 Months I'd like to see a Campaign Manager Beta, that is in some way integrated with Obsidian Portal. In 12 Months I'd like to see all online tools run smoother, and on Mobile platforms (iPad, iPhone, Droid, ect) |
| #11sumzeroJun 20, 2011 10:34:41 | 3 months: online mb with same functionality as offline, integrated with vtt; restore class data, etc that was removed from compendium; beta api 6 months: online cb with same functionality as offline, integrated with vtt; release api 12 months: no more silverlight [more portability]; campaign manager, integrated with vtt; vtt with functionality similar to maptool and others |
| #12AvonRekaesJun 20, 2011 10:46:11 | In 3 months I would like the CB an MB to be indentical to their offline counterparts in terms of funtionality. (CB: all houserule optioned allowed in CBC and editable character sheets, MB: custom-built and edited monsters). In 6 months I would like th CB to feature expanded functionality to include custom-built options (Make-Your-Own-Magic-Items and maybe feats). This is mainly to encourage DM creativity because as it is now, if I hand my players a custom built magic item I designed for my own campaign, they can't have it reflect nice and tidy on their sheets, and may not want to bother or just plain forget all the stuff it can do. In 12 months I would like to see this VT that people keep talking about be publically released with full transparency with the CB an MB. (Mouse-over player and monster pogs to see pertinent combat stats sourced from CB and MB database?) |
| #13AlphastreamJun 20, 2011 13:54:23 | Now: Compiled issues for Dragon and Dungeon, improved search functionality for individual issues. In 3 months I would like the CB an MB to be identical to their offline counterparts in terms of functionality. (CB: all houserule optioned allowed in CBC and editable character sheets, MB: custom-built and edited monsters). 6 Months: Encounter Generator: works with MBuilder and let´s you create encounters using Dungeon Tiles. I also want this to be printable or that I can export it and insert it into my own document for printing, running via laptop, etc. In 12 months, I want an iTunes system by which any user can create content and sell it, alongside digital versions of every D&D product ever made for every edition. I want to see DDI be the engine that drives massive profitability for WotC. |
| #14squachJun 20, 2011 14:07:21 | In 3 months...I want to see themes available across all campaigns as well as be able to input custom items/feats into the Character Builder as well as a webapp Monster Builder. In 6 months...I'd like a full API for DDI so we can start seeing some awesome apps on the web as well as through mobile OSes (iOS specifically) to help me plan and run my game. In 12 months...I'd like to see the following adventure tools: Item Builder, Story Builder, and Adventure Builder (or organize everything else for any given adventure/session into an easily printable format). |
| #15Damon_TorJun 20, 2011 18:18:09 | I'm trying really hard to try and stay in the spirit of the thread here. I've deleted two posts of snark; this is what I really want from DDI. I know these thngs won't happen. Minimum requirements to regain my subscription are in bold. I've removed the 3/6/12 months timetable. Release of VTT, no microtransactions. Functional Monster Builder (either complete the new one or repair the old one they broke) Character Builder to par with the old version (or preferably, with the version I currently have: this means, for me, it must be updated within the month of new material being released, either published or DDI. It means not only houserule support but homebrew support. Yes, this would mean they would have to compete with the "pirates" who give me 10X more customer service than they ever did, but that community of modders is a beast of their own creation.) I want them to stop with the spin, and start putting us first. The example that still sticks out most in my mind is how they handled the trandition from the CBC to the OCB, deliberatly withholding content from the CBC, then lying about it. A company that puts us first would have released that content to us in the old format, since the new format wasn't ready yet. I means I need to see a history of plain, honest talk from DDI employees. Sorry, but the weasely and deliberately vague way the questions are answered in Rule of Three do not count. This bit is outside the realm of DDI per-se, but it's also a requirement: I need to be exited about new D&D content again. Sorry, but being able to play as a binder or vampire isn't enough of a draw to get me to pay a service fee for CB access. |
| #16Cypher2009Jun 29, 2011 15:18:00 | Next week!!!: Being able to edit the CB sheet (move objects and change numbers) and export monster stats as RTF files again! 3 months: Virtual game table goes live with huge improvements to the interface and ability to import any graphics. 6 months: All past Dungeon adventures are avaiable as adventure packs which can be imported into the Virtual Game table for free for subscribers. 12 months: Beta of the Virtual Game Table within Facebook goes life! |
| #17kenjoonJun 29, 2011 17:38:05 | 12 months: Beta of the Virtual Game Table within Facebook goes life! Sorry, but EWWWWWW!!!!!! |
| #18Cypher2009Jun 30, 2011 3:00:18 | You may not like it, but you can't stop it! |
| #19BombergJun 30, 2011 3:50:08 | In 3 months I'd like to have house-ruling abilities and configurable character sheets in the CB as well as a Monster Builder which earns its name. In 6 months I'd like to see a simple Power Configurator allowing me to construct not-too-fancy powers for use with CB and MB. In 12 months I'd like to have an Encounter Builder which fully integrates with CB and MB (including house rules) and which allows me to send the encounters to the VTT as well as print it out in soem decent format. Additionally the VTT can talk back to the CB, so that current versions of a character are saved as well as the basic ones. |
| #20leozeligJun 30, 2011 6:12:02 | In 3 months... create custom content in the CB and MB. In 6 months... play D&D using a fully functional (not beta) virtual table. In 12 months... import an official D&D adventure into the virtual table, complete with maps, tokens, monsters, etc. |
