I'm building a 3-D model of the Nexus for my upcoming game.  I'm interpreting the catwalks around the side of the room as stone and the inner catwalks as being made of metal grating/scaffolding.

My current idea is to use foam board for everything and then print out stone looking grids and metal grating looking grids, cutting them to spec, and then gluing the paper to the foam board.

Any other ideas on how I can pull this off?

You are not the first to visualize it in 3d:

I'll give it a try when we end RaR, I will use styrofoam and Cardboard. My players will love it!

Congrats! Looking forward to the pics.

The Nexus fight was been one of the crowning moments of the heroic tier; it took me hours of prep for the board and the fight lasted over two sessions, but it was WELL worth it. Glad to hear yours went well too.

That looks awesome, it looks like you used my textures on the ground?   I like the idea of having the walls in it, too, that's a good way to make it stable enough to have it the right height!  The one thing I didn't like about my model was how it was only half as tall as it should have been, but it was really stable.  I've even dropped it once since then and it didn't hurt it at all.

One thing though, I'm the person who made the Nexus and post that was quoted before... I'm not a guy. ;)
