The previous issues of Dragon and Dungeon were 8 MB and 10 MB, now Dragon is 38 MB and Dungeon is 75Mb.

All those extra pictures are probably compressed JPG rather than ZIP format.

Since they are not print products they can add mountains of imagery, which will mean slower download, and more bandwidth costs forWotC which means because they wanted to add excess images they can then charge you more for DDI.

I am having a problem downloading the latest, so can't really see the filesize myself....

Best guess, better quality maps. Images increase file size depending on quality.

With filesizes like that, I'd be inclined to guess someone is incompetent at putting them together. Unless all the single files are adding up to that, which doesn't seem likely to be the case, though I've only downloaded the highlights.

Unless they included the audio files of the podcasts.

If it's typical though, it's going to put off people without broadband even more than the current D&D site, which takes several minutes to load due to the graphics.

Don't feel bad, you don't want to download it anyway. Incompetence at its best, they've gone back to the wrong adventure level icon for The Haunting of Kincep Mansion...

Ye godz no!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 blasphemers. Surely this is the first sign of the apocalypse.

Such a travesty should not be tolerated. Everyone should drive to Seattle right now and dump their books back onto Wizards lawn in protest.
