The 4e Toolkit allows you to create your own powers, power cards and classes and export them as XML, HTML, text and PDF using layouts similar to those in the PHB. You can also add your own power sources, proficiencies, skills and keywords quickly and easily via text files.

Currently, the 4ePT is Windows-only. Unless you have Vista, you may need to install the .NET 2.0 Framework to run it.

The 4ePT is currently beta, but contains a great deal of functionality. Feedback and bug reports can be posted on the app's forum.

Oct 30, 2008 7:42:32 It looks like it would be really good, but for some reason I couldn't download it.

I'll try again later when I have more time to figure out why.

The transfer of the updated version was corrupted somehow. I won't be able to upload the new version until tonight. For now, I've put the older version back up. I've tested the download, it works fine now.

Thanks for taking a look (and letting me know it was borked!).

Oct 30, 2008 22:14:29 Hmm... There's no way (on the old version, anyway) for a power to be a move action? Seems like it might be useful to incorporate.

EDIT: Might also be useful to allow for Racial powers.

Oct 30, 2008 22:59:46 Yeah, the old version doesn't have Move actions. It's in the new version though.

Racials however, are not. It's not a major hassle to add it in, so I'll make the change in the new version and upload it when I get home today.

If you're wondering, .4ep XML files are compatible between versions.

Nov 04, 2008 14:44:39 Two problems I have noticed as I use this program:

1) Sometimes the area or range type is missing from the powers when I compile them into HTML.

2) If you are trying to make a zone utility power that doesnt target anyone, the power making wont let you make it a burst or blast, it only lists the range.

Beyond this I am really enjoying this program. You rock!

It's called the 4e Power Toolkit, and it allows you to make powers, classes and power cards. It's beta right now, but I encourage you to take a look.

Feb 18, 2009 3:12:23 I wish I had the time and knowledge to port it to other operating systems.

However, I'm looking into getting it running under Mono in Windows. If that works, there's a very good chance it'll work just fine with Mono in Linux and OS X. As soon as I've figured something out I'll let everyone know.
