From WotC_Huscarl here:

There’s good news and bad news on Tuesday’s DDI update.

The Compendium and Adventure Tools will be updated on schedule. In the Compendium, you can expect to see magic item rarity as a selectable filter, feat powers appearing in the feats, and terrain powers. The Adventure Tools will be updated with creatures from The Shadowfell: Gloomwrought and Beyond, including images.

The Character Builder update is being delayed while we iron out some kinks that were discovered in testing. We expect that a fix is a few weeks away. At this time, it’s impossible to nail down just how long the delay will be. We’ll pass along any additional news as it develops.

Woot!,  Terrain Powers!

Need more of them, but it'll be good to have them in the compendium.

I wonder if they're going to put in wrecan's examples from that blog article.

A couple weeks away... hmmmm... sounds like they hired the same people Sony brought in to fix the PSN. Or at least they work at the same rate.

If we found a bug just before release day it would surely put us back at least a week or two.  You have to find the problem, fix it, and send it back through QA again for testing to make sure you didn't break anything else with the "fix".  The Lion's share of this time will be the QA testing while they go through every feature in the product to make sure everything works as expected for just one change.

Yeah, but at least I didn't pay for my PSN service. It may have been inconvienient, but at least I wasn't paying for it.

No updates to the Character Builder is kind of like paying for a meal, but not getting any food. I complain then too by the way.

It is more like paying for a monthly cleaning service with your rent, and the cleaners tell you they will come on the fourth Tuesday instead of the second Tuesday because their van broke down.

You still have the house, it works as well as it did yesterday, but it would be nice to get it cleaned, since you paid for the service, and now you must wait an extra two weeks or you must spruce it up a little on your own.

But that is just quibbling about metaphors, complain away!

Super sad face.
Ah well, at least they're working on it.  I'm delighted that terrain powers are going into the Compendium, and second the motion to include wrecan's examples.  This definitely support future tools, like adventure builders and synergy with the VT.

Good metaphor, except you pay WAY WAY more for cleaning, believe me.  Once again, overabundance of negativity only goes to show how much people love their hobby.  They just want to give D&D a big squishy hug!

This is dissapointing.  WotC is really trying to be a digital company, but they keep falling short.

As infinitely unlikely as it seems, I would still consider it hilarious if the CB issue were related to the fact that you can no longer get the off-line CB from WotC's own servers.

Anyway, on to an actual point; when are Themes and Theme Powers going to show up in the Compendium?

Anyone notice the new "Kalarel" pre-mades? They are all 1st level and I think there is some new art...

The delays are just not acceptable given the cost imo.

Really? You know the whole shabang costs $5 a month, right? That's like 17 cents a day. Maybe we should all call CS and ask for a 25 cent refund when this finally gets released.

It is $5.95 a month if you are paying for it as an annual subscription.

It is $7.95 a month if you are paying for it as a quarterly subscription.

It is $9.95 a month if you are paying for it monthly.

Any word on the update yet?

WotC_Huscarl said he'd provide a status update after his meeting on Thursday.

It's Friday now, and even if the news is bad (i.e. won't update 'til mid June), I'd appreciate a follow through on that promise.

Thanks.

If it went like 90 percent of the status meetings I've ever attended in my life, there's nothing new to report (I'm saying most status meetings fail on the most basic level).

So no May update?

Highly disapointing. Frown
