I'm about to hit epic with my wizard in my Dark Sun campaign. I've had my eye set on Dragon King for a while. But now that I'm try to get my level 21 sheet together, I'm noticing that it doesn't show in the list of possible Epic Destinies. I have "Draconic Incarnation" and "Eternal Seeker." The weird part is that I could have sworn it was there previously. Does anyone have any idea why Dragon King disappeared from the list? Here's a copy of my character sheet, just in case I took something that disqualifies me from Dragon King:

I did notice that Arcane Defiling doesn't show up in his powers when viewing his character sheet. Is this a bug with the builder?

First things first: Are you using the Dark Sun Campaign or the Home Campaign? I'm thinking the latter, since Arcane Defiling does not show up. In this case, you will probably need to go to the Manage Character screen and check the box that says "Enable Dark Sun options. " This should turn on the inherent bonuses, and hopefully turn on Arcane Defiling and the Dragon King ED.

It seems to be a standard Home Campaign file, but I have the Dark Sun options enabled under the Manage Character screen.

yeah, one of the requirements for Dragon King is "Arcane Defiling power"...  so, retool your CB file until you have Arcane Defiling, and then it should show up

Sorry to derail the technical discussion, but I'm just so jealous if you have gotten to play Dark Sun for twenty levels.

I see you have the Templar theme.  Does that mean you are going to have to murder the current Dragon King you are associated with?  I hope so.

How does the rest of your party feel about your career choice.  Are they all evil bastards like you?

Sorry for the bump, but I'm still having this issue. It appears that, for whatever reason, I can't get Arcane Defiling to show up in the Builder. Is there some reason Mages wouldn't get Arcane Defiling? Or is this a bug or oversight?

Created a fresh character file, made sure to select Dark Sun. Dark Sun options are enabled in Manage Character. Still no Defiling, still no Dragon King option.

@Elendur: It's been a blast. I joined the group at level 9, and short of a TPK that our DM (in an uncharacteristic display of generosity) made into a imprisonment scenario instead of a party wipe, Suhlamu has had a wild ride. He's basically a heartless bastard, a templar of Draj. After a civil war in Draj, he helped restore Tectuktitlay to power... but of course plans on stabbing him in the back as soon as possible. DS is great, one of the reason I love 4e.

And... yes. The rest of the party is pretty much evil, or at least oblivious.

Figured it out! It wasn't showing up because I didn't select several powers. I generally only select the powers he has "prepared"... I hate the clutter the spellbook gives in the CB, and I play on Maptools, so I know I'm not going to make macros for spells I'll likely never use.

Once I had all those power slots filled up, Dragon King showed up as an ED option. Weirdness.

EDIT: Specifically, it looks like having a level 1 Daily Power selected is what triggers the Arcane Defiling option on your character. If you don't have a Level 1 Daily Power (a replaced or retrained one works fine), you won't get Arcane Defiling.
