"Legal" status should print on every page

I wish the "legal" status, for indicating a character is legal according to the campaign rules (specifically LFR), would print on every page of the character sheet so a DM can be reasonably assured the character is legal.

Except he can't be.

The Character Builder will certify as legal some characters that are out and out illegal for LFR play.  No one connected to the campaign in any capacity whatsoever signs off on the CB campaign file and the declaration that your character is LFR legal has no official meaning.

While the CB campaign file disallows the most egregious problems (MM races, for example, or dragonmarked feats), there are a meaningful number of things that the CB thinks are legal (the most common instance being web preview material that didn't actually end up in the compiled Dragon issue) that are not.

The fact that the CB says your character is legal is pretty much as authoritative as if I personally say your character is legal, and carries about as much force.

A player with a legal LFR character that the Character Builder believes is not legal could just explain to the DM the difference. A DM can handle exceptions much better than any computer. I bet that fewer than 5% of all LFR characters meet those conditions so the 95+% of all LFR character sheets that say "legal in LFR" would assure the DM they are.

If the CB takes the time to display the "legal" status in the Character Viewer why not print it too?

You just reversed my point.  The issue isn't that legal LFR characters are not shown as legal; the issue is that illegal LFR characters are shown as legal.

The only point to printing it on character sheets (and, IMO, the only point to having this as part of the character builder) is if, 100% of the time, you can have complete certainty that the CB's declaration that you are LFR legal is correct.  That's not the case.

Anything less than full accuracy in situations like this is pointless.  A food label that said "95% of our sandwiches do not contain dog feces" means that you're still going to have to check each and every time to make sure you didn't roll a 1.

The CB will allow you to make some choices that are illegal in LFR and still declare you legal, so a DM interested in confirming legality has to double-check everything anyway, so having the declaration printed on the character sheet has no value.

With the current time line that the CB is updated on we don't end up with good RPGA files.

So for the time being it is still mostly up to the player to be honest.
