I am trying to edit my group's profile or settings on this community.

Whenever I click "Edit Group Profile", I get the following text with NO input fields, and a very disturbing "No group profile defined by network" message at the very end, even though I have already created the group and changed a number of things about it, including writing Wiki pages. The community knows the group exists, I can log into any time, but this page is telling me the group doesn't exist.

Why?

I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I couldn't find one for WOTC community technical assistance.

Tell us a little bit about yourself by filling out your profile. You can always change it later. Privacy settings Photo and screen name (required; screen name is set from your Wizards.com account screen name) will display on your page, posts, and in search results. Full Name (optional) will display on your profile unless you set your profile to private. These fields will return your profile in search results: Full name, city, state/province, country, age, zip code/postal code. You can change this in your Privacy Settings by selecting the "exclude from search results" option. Your information is public by default. To change who can view your page and activity and who can contact you on the site, go to Privacy Settings under Profile in the left navigation menu.

No group profile defined by network.

The group is not what is undefined. The "group profile" is undefined by the network because groups don't have profiles. Only the individual user accounts have profiles, groups have short and long descriptions.

Hope this helps.

Then why is the option there?

Essentially what you're saying is that this option -- for a group -- is a completely useless link with no functionality.

Then why does it exist?

And if it doesn't exist, where are the options to do the kinds of things you would do in this link?

I have no idea why it is there, but the message means the system is not setup so groups have profiles. Yes, that link is not useful to groups (perhaps it will be in the future, but I haven't heard anything to suggest it).

What kind of things were you hoping to do with that profile option?

Oh and just in case you wanted only the group members to be able to edit the wiki, you'll need to goto the wiki home page and edit the settings. Right now (because the group is publicly viewable) anyone that is logged in can probably edit the wiki.
