| #1overloadutFeb 06, 2009 12:49:59 | I absolutely hate the 30-minute logout for D&D Insider so I wrote a fix. You need to be using Firefox and have the Greasemonkey extension. Get Greasemonkey here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748. Other browsers like Chrome and Opera apparently have some Greasemonkey support but I have not tested this script with them. Then all you need to do is install this script by clicking on this link: www.greglaabs.com/greasemonkey/dd_insider_-_stay_logged.user.js Now as long as you have a D&D Insider page open, this script will send a HEAD request to the server every 20 minutes. This ping will refresh the session so you don't get logged out. If you close all D&Di pages for 30 minutes you will still be logged out as usual. But at least this way you can leave the page open while playing so you can access the compendium without needing to log in every single time. Also since it's on my mind I want to mention that Wizards has officially created the worst HTML I have ever seen in a professional website that people actually have to pay to access. It's abysmal beyond belief. It was painful just writing this tiny script! |
