hey all. i was wondering if it was or will ever be possible to have custom content show up in the same format as legal. (ex. custom classes). What i mean is will it ever be easier for us to have custom classes, races, etc. without having to edit everything by hand. like if you have a custom made martial class and we still have to go through everything of listing its armor class and everything or the CB wont recognize it. So will it ever be easier to actually input this data or has someeone figured out a way to do this. please help...

Oh, this would be nice. I houserule a "Dancer" class for my particular campaign. It's almost identical to the Bard, so it can't be terribly unbalanced and on paper I can easily just copy/paste and slightly rewrite Bard information, but in the character creator you have to go through manually selecting everything for the character.

And even then, the saving throws(Er... I mean the defenses), hit points, and miscellaneous things(Bardic Virtue, innate equipment proficiencies) are all off.

I've recently gotten CB and this is something I need badly. I have a campaign world that has a lot of custom content (new races, a new class, equipment, gods, languages). My only hold up from asking my players to use CB is that I can't get my custom content in there in a reasonably usable way. I really feel that Wizard did great with the MB customization, but they have fallen short with CB. PLEASE enhance the product so we can add things and have them have the same look and feel as the official content.

I'm still waiting for someone from WOTC to answer my question in the CB technical thread on how to add mundane items not included in their equipment lists. You can create them but they only appear in the magic item section of the character sheet. The CB engine assumes any custom items you are making are magical. I had to create things like a mysterious note, and shovel and they only print out in the magic item section even though when you add them to the inventory they appear on the inventory list in the builder itself.

Also there is no way to add or subtract single quantities of rations or ammunition. Is it that hard to code this? It should be possible as you can do it with residium.

I agree that they should allow us to create custom races since their are already RAW for it in the book. I have one player that want's to recreate a character from a previous campaign. We can still do it on paper but it would be nice to be able to utilize the CB to print it out neatly.

I'll just generally second the content of this thread. A lot of us DMs have our own campaign worlds with our own sets of gods, races, etc. Being able to use the character builder for my own content would make me much more likely to renew my subscription, instead of letting it lapse, as I have currently decided to do.

The new adventure tools look great insofar as they allow DMs to add custom content. Now just bring your character builder up to speed.

Edit: I decided to include a specific list of my most wanted features.

1) God creation. Allow us to create gods and to assign domains to them. Then allow divine characters who pick that god to have access to the appropriate domains.
2) Ability bonus support for races. Allow us to assign ability bonuses to custom races we invent, and have those ability bonuses show up when we select that race.
3) Ability to change numbers on the character sheet. This will help the many people who have houserules to get around the expertise feats or the inappropriate leveling of NADs.

All of these seem like relatively simple changes to make. Of course, I'd love even more customizability than this, such as the ability to upload whole new classes that will function normally, or the ability to create new powers, but just the three things listed above would go a long way towards making the CB friendlier to the sizable part of your community that builds their own campaign worlds.

Wow, I have to re-second everything in this thread. This is all the kind of stuff I care most about. With this kind of stuff I could drop the demo and pay gladly for a subscription to D&Di. And I have to especially re-mention the custom dieties thought; you can disallow them for a campaign, but there's no "deity" classification when adding custom rules/content to a campaign.

On the topic of custom content, I think it would be nice if the "Campaign settings/houserules" section had some extra selections. Besides houseruled deities, I'd also like the option of defining what alignments are available(including ones not default to 4e/DnD at all), or even just tacking on additional notes that aren't directly related to a given catagory.
