Whenever I play as my Genasi, inevitably I see "Increase damage to __ at 21st lev" ect. While I know that's useful to be aware of, it's annoying to have lots of clutter on your power cards. The more complicated the power, the more text, and that's tinier and tiner text, just to fit in a small space.
It's not just for powers that in the future will improve, but also for powers that have you choose an ability. Considering that Firepulse is straightforward (enemy hits you with melee, you attack them vs reflex with 1d6 + mod fire damage), why is there so much tiny text? Do you really need to be reminded now that it'll improve at lev 11 and 21? And once you choose an ability for the mod, why does it need to tell you to choose one still? These sorts of comments are great when looking up a power, but when you play, they're not relevant. Worse, for new players, they can be distracting.
So here's my idea: Why not take out all comments such as "increase damage to __ at __ lev" or "choose __, ___, or ___ as the ability score" off the cards? If someone's already chosen the ability to use, then it's set. And the future damage output of an improving power will appear at that lev in due time. If someone wants to see if their power improves, they can check the power in the builder.
Of course, we can't lose the really important messages, such as sneak attack damage reminders, or Artful Dodger/Aegis of Assault/ect specials to powers. But those are things you need to know while you're playing.
Well, think about it, okay?
