Accurate staff isn't counted in my total attack

Aug 24, 2011 14:48:04 Hello,

I have a character with Superior Implement Training (Accurate Staff), I have an Accurate Staff, and the +1 bonus doesn't appear anywhere... any idea why? Bug?

For completeness, my character is a Barbarian/Sorcerer, and I have Versatile Expertise (which is counted).

Aug 24, 2011 14:53:25 Okay, I figured it out: the staff HAS to be equipped to get the bonus counted.... the new CB is definitely cr*p.

Aug 24, 2011 16:50:20 Of course the staff has to be equipped to get the attack bonus with it. That's how it's supposed to work. You have to attack with the staff to get the bonus, which kind of requires you to have it your hands so you can attack with it.

Aug 24, 2011 18:18:06 Also note that Superior Implements such as the Accurate Staff only apply their Superior effects to Implement attacks - so if things which are not Implement attacks are lacking this bonus, that's entirely intended.

Aug 25, 2011 8:17:14 I have to agree that this is a bug. A Barbarian/Sorcerer is going to have a two handed weapon of some kind and an implement. If he chooses to show both on his power cards, then the bonuses for both options should be correct (regardless which one he "equips" in the builder) based on the assumption that in order to make an attack with said weapon/implement you HAVE to be holding it.

Aug 30, 2011 19:05:35 I wouldn't call it a bug, so much as a limitation of the software. One thing I really liked about RPGXplorer back in 3E was that I could set up multiple weapon configurations. The DDI CB really should have this functionality as well, but it doesn't.

Sep 02, 2011 5:58:20 Yes it does. Its just not working properly. You can ask it to show multiple weapons on the power cards (example: an executioner with garotte, dagger AND shortbow). But it forgets to add thing such as the accurate bonus to anything but the equipped weapon. The others gets some nonsensical attack bonus that you cannot actually achive since you need to equip them in-game to use them.
