You should really contact CS with this. You're more likely to get a reply.

The Customer Service?????

I want to say to all the board the answers (marked solved!) that the brillant CS gave me:

"Hi ,

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately I am unable to read the error you have copied and pasted. Would you please summarize and let me know what is being said there and I will have a much better idea of how to help.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience in this matter.

and the best answer is this:

"I'm sorry you're having trouble with our Monster Builder. Below is a link to a troubleshooter that may help.

Hey Paradox but u Know that before posting to CS u should before visualiz the troubleshooting list?

It seems that CS is more interested in marking "solved" the quastions in time, rather than give a true support to customers.

So Could someone competent tell me how to solve the CLR20r3 Error, cause looking at forums seems to be a code error?!?!?

TY

Your error mesage is in a different language, is it not?  How about translating it for customer service rather than questioning their competence.

If u read it's the standard report error for a CLR20r3 error.

I can read just fine, I am simply not a bilinguist.  And I can see that your error report is in a language other than English.  I merely offered a suggestion for you to translate the error message for customer support.  Either try it or don't, it doesn't matter to me.  I didn't have to post anything to try to help you.

Here are some things you could try. However, not having Windows 7, and not reasding the language that your OS is using, your milage may vary.

1 - Re-install windows .NET. It is possible that between the last update and this update, something got corrupted.

2 - Uninstall the old Monster Builder, and re-download a fresh version from the WotC website, as it is possible that something happened on your computer to corrupt the version of the Monster Builder that you have.

If the above doesn't work, then update your ticket with a translated (as best you can) version of the error message. It doesn't appear that any of the WOtC CS staff can read the language that your W7 is in, and not knowing the exact error, they are, understandably, less able to help you.

Run as administrator (right click the shortcut -> run as administrator) (not sure what it will be in your language). Always worth a shot when things go wrong in win7.

That said, the tech support guy rejecting your claim because of the translation issue is a bit harsh, especially since all the important bits are in english anyway. The other parts are Error name (possibly Error code), some numbered list, a version number, and a localisation identifier.

The error code seems to be for a fileNotFoundException, so a full uninstall/reinstall will probably help a lot (try just the monster builder first, and see if that works, if not try .net)

Google translate (wasn't hard for me to guess it was Italian):

Not that the original was that hard to read, but I suppose language skills aren't a top priority for a CS employee in the US.

Beside the language problem, I finally uninstalled and reinstalled (following the troubleshooting guide) and run as admin.
The strange thing is that when I install the first time the update goes well.
Aftar the first update, I'm unable to update again.

I think a possible problem could be that avirus sees the filepatcher as a trojan.

I disabled it on the old "installation" and excluded the wotc folders but I had no success.

This is my experience.

If i cant find a solution I can only reinstall every time i'd update.

Bad indeed
