A genasi character with dual manifestation (firesoul and windsoul) normally has Resist 5 Fire when manifesting firesoul and Resist 5 Cold when manifesting windsoul.  The Akanul regional background benefit says, "You gain resist 2 cold, resist 2 fire, and resist 2 thunder (or your existing resistance to these damage types increases by 2)."  (Emphasis mine.) Therefore, if the aforementioned character hails from Akanul, it should have Resist 2 Cold (Resist 7 Cold when manifesting windsoul), Resist 2 Fire (Resist 7 Fire when manifesting firesoul) and Resist 2 Thunder. However, the character builder is only showing the two "when manifesting" values as Resist 5 instead of Resist 7.  Looking inside the character save file, it appears that the background benefit is being saved using Stat names of "resist:cold", "resist:fire", and "resist:thunder" but the firesoul and windsoul manifestation values are saved with Stat names of "_firesoul resist" and "_windsoul resist" respectively. I suspect that because of the name differences these stats should, but do not, stack.
