I know I brought this up in an earlier thread, but I had recently subscribed to D&Di. I only own PHB 1 and 2, and I'm not sure if I should allow my players to use any class, race or feature in the character builder. Does anyone else allow it? Thanks in advance.

Unless there are chunks of rules missing that prevent you from knowing how stuff works, I can't see a reason to disallow it.

Good point haha. I might do that then.

Yeah, don't disallow stuff.  Just ask your players to bring enough information with them (e.g. printed from the compendium) that it's clear what they're doing with each of the powers etc.

I tell my player that they can use whatever they please so long as they:

a) document the source, and

b) provide a copy of the information to me if I don't already have it.

For both, a printout from the Compendium or CB are sufficient. This minimizes misunderstanding and prevents players from trying to pull a fast one on me by trying to pass homebrew off as official (not that any of my current players would, mind, but it's a principles thing).
