Am I missing something, or is the Druid Playtest incomplete?

Nov 30, 2008 23:11:39 Aside from the fact that this "playtest" presents us with less info than the Bard preview did (I guess I've been spoiled by the 30-level playtests of the artificer and barbarian), it's actually incomplete - there are no level 3 encounter powers provided, though it says it's a playtest of the "Druid, Levels 1-3."

I mean, at level 3 you could select a level 1 encounter, but...

They did actually fix that, and add in the missing Level 3 powers.

As far as the class goes, it seems pretty cool. I'm not a big fan of druids (that is, they don't inspire me to play them) but they handle the shapeshifting in a neat way (it grants you the ability to use powers that are only available to you while in beast form); they have lots of weather-and-nature themed AoE powers; some really nifty twists on control, using pushes, pulls, and bursts to very neat effect.

I think it ought to be a fascinating class when we see the whole thing.

Dec 01, 2008 22:32:23 With cash tight I can not subscribe to DDI. But with what you have mentioned the class sounds better than I thought it would be! I thought they might focus on shape change alone with nothing else. Feel free to share any other tid bits that you like or dislike about the Druid.

It seems, from the first three levels, that it is a flexible class and you can build a backline controller who a close and personal in your face controller with the options given, or a mix of the two.

Well played a druid will be a Defender or a melee strikers best friend.
